LORAC Cosmetics Pirates of the Caribbean Cheek Palette Review and Swatches

Ahoy Beauty Mateys! LORAC Cosmetics came out with a Pirates of the Caribbean eye shadow palette, cheek palette and assortment of lipsticks for the FIFTH installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man Tell No Tales movie that comes out the end of this month. I purchased the cheek palette during ULTA's 20% off sale because I was drawn to the neutral color palette of the blushes. Well upon swatching this palette, it had a couple of surprises for me! You only get 2 matte blushes and the other 4 are shimmer shades (highlighters). I wish it were 3 blushes and 3 highlighters, but oh well! Lost Soul (the lighter blush), swatched a lot lighter on my hand than expected. But it does look better "normal" on the face. I knew I would love the Caribbean blush shade, and a little goes a longgggg way people. It's very pigmented. Now, the shimmer shades! They're not for the faint of heart! They are SHIMMERY! They are BLING BLING! I would've never thought by just looking at the palette. So use a light hand! I had to tone down my look several times. Let's briefly talk packaging! It is gorgeous in person! It's suppose to be inspired by the film's new heroine, Carina Smyth...her DIARY! It's very CELESTIAL, with golden stars, symbols & sayings. Inside is a mirror that says "Chart a course for the Stars". The palette is magnetized to close. I also love the skull and crossbones on the box. The eye shadow palette colors weren't for me and I haven't seen enough reviews/swatches of the lipsticks. They looked ok. But everyone has been impressed with the cheek palette. Is this for everybody? No. But I like it, plus I have a villain shelf in my makeup room that this will fit perfectly on. LOL I'm wearing Kylie's Poppin Lip Gloss with the Lost Soul, Destined & Star Reader Look. I'm wearing Jouer's Praline Lipstick with the Caribbean & Bold Spirit look. Let me know your thoughts on this movie series and anything you've heard on this makeup collection. Kinda worried about Johnny Depp and how his life has been going lately. He's great in this role, but can he play other characters like he use to do long time ago.

The moon phase cover sheet is making my heart happy!! These look beautiful on you Kim, thank you for sharing! I haven't seen the shadow palette or the lipsticks, but I think this is a cool collection. I've always been a fan of Johnny Depp and this movie series!

  6. I am not worried about Johnny Depp at all. I bet he can still play as he used to, and in fact he had another movie in between to proove it. And I adore him as Jack Sparrow!
The palette though will not be for me. Too much shimmer and bling.

  7. The swatches are stunning! What a gorgeous palette, I have been kind of over the Pirates of the Carribean franchise for a while but I don't remember them pairing with a beauty brand for any of the other movies to bring out a limited collection (or did they?). This looks gorgeous, not sure I would get much use out of it though. Thank you for sharing, stunning photos and post xxxx

  8. Although I'm not a fan of shimmery stuff lately, I do love the packaging of this palette, Kim:) That Caribbean shade looks fab! And you know....have always been a fan of Johnny Depp but like you, am worried how his life is going lately. That Amber Heard....ugh.....

  9. The packaging is really cool and I can def. see this being a collectors item for POC fans. The Caribbean blush shade is super pretty Kim! I don't know if we'll watch this one in the theatres but we'll probably see it eventually since we've watched all the other films in the series. Capt. Jack Sparrow is one of my fave Johnny Depp characters. I hope he figures it out in his real life as well.

  11. I have always found Lorac's cheek shades to be way over the top in terms of pigment. I bought a peach-hued blush from them years ago that basically turned my cheeks orange with one swipe! I've been nervous to try them again since, but I'm impressed by how well you made this work for you.

  14. Holy Moly those area shimmery! This is a beautiful palette and very pigmented. I don't love super shimmery shades though. I don't mind if they are a little shimmer though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

  16. I've heard such great things about Lorac's eyeshadows and how creamy they tend to be, but I've never read anything on their blushes before. The colors are pretty, but like you've said very bold, so it may not be everyone, unless you're a makeup enthusiast like yourself. I'd love to see a tour of your makeup room and collection, it sounds so fun! I hope you're having a great weekend so far, beauty!

  17. These are pretty palettes. I do feel movie series should end after 3. After that I tend to get bored with the characters and story lines. Depp was always a favorite of mine. He is definitely struggling with his personal life these days and does not look well. :( I still think he is amazing after recently watching Black Mass and Through the Looking Glass.

  23. Love the packaging!! The swatches on your hand look very different to the pans. Your hand swatches are so vibrant and pigmented. When you look at the palette you won't think they would be so great. This palette is a great collectors item. The blush looks beautiful on you Kim. Xxxx

  25. I would have never picked up this based on the packaging... but the colors are a treat- shimmery but wearable.

  26. I know you would have preferred less highlighters and more matte blushes, but the look you get with the soft shimmer of these highlighters is truly flattering. You look very beautiful Kim, keep using these my friend! Love, Valeria
