Pixi Beauty 2018 Pixi Pretties Collection: Chloe Morello, Dulce Candy and Weylie Hoang Review and Swatches

PR Sample - Hey Guys! Pixi Beauty sent me their NEW 2018 Pixi Pretties Collection (you may remember my review of their 2017 Pixi Pretties Collection). For 2018, they collaborated with Chloe Morello, Dulce Candy and Weylie Hoang. Below are my thoughts on each. I also put together a YouTube video featuring the collection.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Chloe Morello | Palette Chloette ($24) & Lip Icing ($14) - Sweet
This is an all over face palette. It contains 3 blush shades, 6 shimmering eye shades (that can also be used as highlighters) and 3 brow/liner shades. I really liked this palette. All of the blush shades are perfect for Spring & Summer. They have dimension to them. I thought a couple would not work on my skin tone, but they all looked really beautiful & pigmented when applied. From L-R (bottom pictures), I'm wearing 1. Promise Blush and Veil & Honeymoon on the eyes 2. Bouquet Blush and Fairytale & Passion on the eyes 3. Romance Blush and Lace & Swoon on the eyes. The 3 brow/liner shades work great as transition shades, to line or smudge out the eyes and they can also be used to fill in eyebrows. Chloe also came out with Lip Icing (a lip gloss)! I love the name & color. It looks bronze-y and glittery in the tube, but applied to the lips it's very neutral. Just a slight wash of color that will enhance your lip color. It looks great alone (as I'm wearing it below) or as a lip topper. I'm more amazed with the formula of this lip gloss. IT IS NOT STICKY! IT IS NOT TACKY! I know you're saying, c'mon Kim it has to have a little stick to it. IT DOES NOT! It' creamy & moisturizing! It also smells fruity! They need to keep this formula and come out with more colors in this formula. It's the best gloss I've ever tried. There's some sparkle, but you don't feel it. Love the packaging for this.

Dulce Candy | Dulce's Lip Candy ($24) - Bittersweet
Lip Palettes. I'm really not a fan of them. There have only been a couple that I've liked in the past and it's due to them having a really good formula. This one, was very hit or miss with me. Some of the lighter colors applied patchy to the lips. Some were not very pigmented. The darker shades performed much better. These can double as cream blushes. For the lighter shades, they may work better that way. Below (L-R) are lip swatches of all 9 shades.

Dulce Candy | Cafe Con Dulce ($24) - Sweet
This is a multi-use palette that can be used on your cheeks & lids. I see it as a highlighter & blush topper palette. There's a beautiful assortment of colors in this palette and the pigmentation for each is gorgeous. ONE SWIPE is what you see below (swatches). You get pinks, purples, peaches, coppers & golds. There's a lot of bling with these, but they lay beautifully on the skin.

Weylie Hoang | Dimensional Eye Creator Kit ($20) - Sweet
Great price for an excellent kit. You get a 6 pan eye shadow palette. You also get a dual ended liner. The eye shadow palette contains 3 matte shades & 3 shimmer shades. The shadows are beautifully pigmented with only one swipe. I created a dramatic look below, using all 3 mattes & gurl (shimmer). The dual ended liner has a felt tip on one side and kohl liner on the other side. Both can create thin to thick lines. When using the felt tip end, let the liner dry down for a minute and then wipe away. It does not budge. It did flair out into small lines on my hand, but I didn't have a problem on my top lid. It is a little long, so controlling the line was a little more difficult. I used the kohl liner on my bottom lash line. If you wipe, it will move, but it doesn't move much. This is great because if you want to smudge it out it MOVES. Weylie did a great job with this kit. All of these collabs were were very unique. For me personally, I loved the Chloe Morello the most for myself and style.

  1. That lip gloss looks and sounds lovely Kim! Every time I see a post about Pixi I kick myself as I still haven't checked them out yet, haha! I wonder if we weill have this particular collaboration range here in Australia?

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Our weather wasn't as bad as predicted so we got to spend some time outside and by the pool which was awesome. :)

  2. Thanks for the review and the vid, Kim:) I'll see if I can find these in my local drug store that carries Pixi. I also think that the Chloe palette looks the best on you, but man...that Beso lip shade is sooooo fab on you! Love love love.

  3. Pixi kindly sent me these sets as well. I haven't yet had a chance to try them myself, but I am most excited for the Weylie Hoang kit, which seems most my style. I love the Chloe Morello palette as well. The Dulce Candy selection seemed a bit too flashy for me, and I'm not a fan of lip palettes at all. But overall, as usual, Pixi did an amazing job with these collaborations,

  5. I have never and will never be a fan of lip palettes, I think it's more hassle than it's worth. I am tempted to buy a few of the eyeshadow palettes though.

  8. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these Kim. I agree with you about not using lip palettes which is why I didn't even swatch it. I also prefer more brown tones than pinks. The Palette Chloette is beautiful but the Weylie is my favorite palette overall. However, the Cafe Con Dulce I LOVE using the more gold/champagne/bronze shades on my lid as a shadow. The lightest shade works great as a highlight. You are so right about that lip gloss! I hate gloss and love this! I hope they come out with darker shades!

  9. Oh it's a bummer the Dulce's Lip Candy was a disappointment but everything else you got sounds really nice Kim. I always walk by the Pixi display at Target and think that I should get something but there hasn't been anything that I needed ;p

  10. With so much going on lately, I've been so out of tune with YouTube and had no idea that these ladies launched these palettes. I've been a fan of Dulce from the very beginning, but haven't watched her in so long. I've just recently discovered Chloe. I know she's been around for a while, I don't know how I didn't discover her sooner, I like her vibe. As for the palettes, I think the idea of all of them are great and would make sense for traveling, as they're multifunctional. I've never really been a fan of lip palettes either, sorry to hear this one didn't work out, though that red one is GORGEOUS on you! Red is your color, girl; you look gorgeous in red! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, beauty, and I hope you're having a great start to your week so far!

  11. I don't know who these girls they collaborated with are, but this Pixie brand seems lovely.

Chloe Morello's Palette Chloette sounds great! Lip Icing sounds lovely as well. Those 3 blush shades from the palette are so pretty and the eye shades look fabulous as well (no nice they can also be used as highlighters). I can see why you liked this palette. It's great that the brow shades can be used to fill in the brows as well. Good news about their lip-glosses being pretty amazing as well.

I think I remember you saying you're not crazy about lip palettes, so I understand why you didn't really like Dulce Candy/ Dulce's Lip Candy. It is good that at least the darker shades work well, and it is a plus that these lip shades can be used as blushes. On the photographs these do look nice, but since the lighter shades weren't much to your liking, I see why you have it is a bitter sweet rating.

Dulce Candy/ Cafe Con Dulce multi-use palette sounds very practical and it looks so well pigmented. I love that can be used on both cheeks and lids, I'm a big fan o multi practical products....and the shades are so beautiful!

Hoangs' kit seems pretty amazing as well! All in all, this seems like a great collection!

  16. Haha, I always remember your dislike of sticky lip glosses Kim! Happy to hear you approve of this non-sticky formula, that sounds like a great lightweight option for the lips during the warmer months of the year too :)
