Mally Beauty Cosmetics Muted Muse Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

Mally Beauty (Mally Roncal) released her Muted Muse Eyeshadow Palette ($29 USD) the beginning of 2017. Someone swatched it on Instagram and I was immediately enamored. I thought the colors were very Fall & Autumn. Usually in dead Winter, we only see Spring makeup. However, it seems more cosmetic companies decided to release Fall inspired shades earlier this year.  Well, I just recently purchased it and love it. Mally Roncal describes this as an EYE-SHADOW PALETTE! So true. All shades can be used as eye-shadow, but this palette does a whole lot more. Awakening (light ivory shimmer), can be used to add sparkle in the corners of the eyes. But I also found it to be an excellent under eye brightener. Artistry (medium brown matte) can be used as an eye-shadow, but I found it also to be an excellent bronzer & contour shade. I created two looks below. My first look is with the orange/brown shades in the palette. Illumination (medium gold/copper shimmer) is such a pretty pumpkin-brown orange. I used it on my top lid, mixed with Inspire (light tan shimmer). I lined my eyes with Insight (deep brown matte). Insight is an amazing liner. I've never used an eye-shadow that works so good as an eyeliner in all my life. It truly stays put. I bronzed my face with Artistry. My lipstick is NYX Wrath Wicked. My second look is with the purples in the palette. I placed Euphoria (deep plum matte) all over my lid and into my crease. I pressed Fancy (medium plum brown shimmer) onto my lid. I used Insight again as a liner. For both looks, I used Daydream (light pink shimmer) right under my eyebrows. The lipstick I'm wearing with this look is Bobbi Brown's Sandy Nudes Brown Shimmer Lipstick #9. You can create several looks using this palette and it's perfect for Fall, Autumn and Winter. Nowadays, palettes run upwards of $49 so for $29 you really do get a lot more. I'm really impressed. The quality of the eye-shadows are really good. I always prime the back of my hands with Smashbox's Original Photofinish Primer before I swatch because that is what I use on my face. I'm still learning eye-shadow application. I have hooded lids, so I'm learning that I have to take eye-shadows more UPwards to be seen. But I'm slowly learning and getting there ;) To see all of my Mally reviews, click here.

Very pretty! I love the fun basic shades that it has. I don't think we have Mally Beauty in Canada, I'm not sure I could get my hands on it. This palette swatches really well. Your looks are beautiful! http://www.mrsqbeauty.com

This is such a pretty palette Kim!! You look gorgeous and I love the looks you created! I like how you can use artistry and awakening as a Bronzer and highlight too! I've never tried any mally products still, but this is s great price!

The looks that you created are very pretty! They swatch beautifully too. Thats cool that you can use them on other parts of your face too. The price is great! I have hooded eyes too and have found that skipping on eyeliner on the top lash line makes my shadow show better. When I apply liner it takes away from the shadow I have applied to my lids.

These colors are so perfect for fall/winter and I love the pallete because I'm always a big fan of natural. PS - that is such a good tip to add the Smashbox primer on the back of your hand first before testing. I'm going to do that too. :)

Thanks for the sweet comment too.

A very nice color selection, and truly lovely for fall, but I think I have too many similar shades already.

Both of these looks are beautiful on you, Kim! The shades in this palette are definitely darker than what I would normally go for but I love knowing that so many of them have multiple uses - it's great when you can get extra bang for your buck like that!

No exaggeration, Kim, when I scrolled down and saw your makeup look, I literally gasped and said, wow! You look incredibly stunning! This palette was made for you!!!! I love the warm sultry colors, which are indeed perfect for fall. I love the 90s vibe of the first look with the brown copper-y lip shade. My mom used to live in the building where one of Mally's makeup artists (she works for Mally) lives and the girl used to always rave about how amazing Mally is that she's a genuine and sweet person, which is nice to know, right? Anyway, thanks for sharing, my beautiful friend, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

Kim you look stunning with that sultry makeup look!!!! 😍⭐️ That glam is everything! I'm not familiar with the Mally brand. Not many people talk about it and it's not sold in my country. Thanks for broadening my makeup horizons. πŸ˜πŸ’–
