LUSH Strawberry Shaving Soap Product Review

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics recently came out with NEW products for 2014. For the record, I've never been a HUGE fan of Lush products. It's not because their products don't work, it's because their scents (for some of their products) are TOO STRONG (at least for me)! I haven't tried LUSH since 2012. Well one new item peaked my curiosity! It was their Strawberry Shaving Soap. I mean seriously, how can you f*ck up strawberry!?!

The Good! This shaving mousse, cream, soap (whatever you want to call it) is SO GOOD you guys! It gives a really close shave. It leave your skin feeling super duper soft. It leaves your skin feeling moisturized. I love this stuff!!! When you open the jar, it looks like yoplait's whipped yogurt but a little denser. Cotton candy clouds! It's rich & creamy! Slather it on baby! Slather it ON! Now, the wetter your skin, the more it thins out. So take my advice and wet your hands, THEN SCOOP IT OUT, APPLY and SHAVE. I tried it several ways and thought this was the best way to apply it.

Now, some quirks (you know I like to give ALL angles)! Strawberry scented? Hmmm...Welll! There's strawberry in it. However, I think the dominant scent is ROSE. The scent (to me) is more floral than fruity. This is probably because it contains organic rose hip oil and it dominates the strawberry scent. The scent is not overpowering, so you shouldn't worry about that. Secondly, LUSH uses pots (little black jars) for many of their products. I wish this particular product was encased in a container that had a pump. It would be a lot more sanitary. I don't like the fact of scooping it out. However, I only used it twice and it was empty! HaHaHa I purchased the small pot of Lush D'Fluff ($9.95). I used it twice (but hey, I'm a Sasquatch and have lots of hair). So the small pot will give you about 2-4 uses. The large pot of Lush D'Fluff is $16.95. On the package, it states it's good for a year! I was surprised at that. I don't keep LUSH products long, because they contain a lot of organic products. Stuff turns. I recommend that you buy this as needed. I say all of the above to say this...it can get a little expensive. I'm use to paying only $2-3 for shaving cream! LOL The only thing I can say though is your legs will feel SO GOOD after using this! It's the closest shave I've ever had. I really liked it. Well, those are my thoughts! I give it a SWEET rating! It would be SUPERSWEET, but there were too many quirks. Have you tried this product? If there is anything of LUSH that you think I would like, please leave your suggestions in my comment box below. Have a great weekend!

  3. I have never tried that product but just because I have never seen it here. Looks great! I love both strawberries and roses so I don't mind if the rose scent dominates. Thanks for sharing, I'd definitely give it a try if I have the chance.

  4. I haven't tried this shaving soap, but I am such a LUSH devoted customer, so I will have to see if they have another scent too. I love thier soaps, cleansers, etc. But, definitely a splurge bundle. Thanks for the review Kim!

  5. This sounds lovely but I agree with you re the packaging - I always wish more Lush products had a pump!

  6. Hi Kim! I am as you when it comes to Lush products, dont use them as their scent is very strong and sometimes makes me sick, though I think they are also good. Btw, I never saw a shaving soap but it inspires me, especially the scent! As you, I dont like the fact it comes in pot, but for sure will give it a try! Have a great weekend dear Kim, many hugs! xo

  7. This sounds gorgeous. I don't care for the pots as well, I would prefer a pump and more of the product for the money too. A pump would help in that also. I've not been to lush in years, love their bath bombs, but haven't tried any of their other stuff, might pop in when I can. Super review doll, hope you have a great weekend :) xx

  11. I actually might try this product. I do like LUSH, even though they are usually out of my price range, but it is nice to be able to have a little splurge once in a while. My legs kinda need something like this every once in a while.

  12. I think I used Lush once, not because I don't like it, but it just happened once. :) Love the look and consistency of this product, but it seems a bit expensive to me. Also surprising about the best before, isn't it? Considering it has eggs whites in a formula. I know they can last for ages, but not a year... :)
Thanks for a great review, Kim! x

  20. I havent been to Lush in ages. Im really shocked at that expiration date; most of their stuff don't normally last very long. I'll have to give this a try next time i'm by there. Have a lovely weekend!

  21. i don't go to lush because it's fricken expensive (here, anyways)! the last time i went, everything was $40 and up. one thing i wanted was like $89?! i ended up leaving with a small chunk of deodorant for my daughter that cost me $10, lol!

  22. Kim, you crack me up! I've never been a fan of Lush mainly because I find all the smells in the store so overpowering... how can you choose a product when so many scents are coming at out at the same time? Anyway, I do hear good reviews of individual products so I'm going to have to see if I can overcome my nose one of these days :)

  24. Mmm, as a fellow Sasquatch myself (hiiiii!), I'm tempted to try this. What's hilarious is that as soon as I pulled up this post, I felt my legs and thought "Geez, it's time for a shave."
And proceeded to do so. Lol

  32. You make me wanna head down to a LUSH store and smell this, then buy it and start shaving. I'm like you, I don't really fancy Lush coz the whole store is too overwhelming with all sorts of smell that I could not quite stand it. If this smells more of rose than strawberries, then I think I would love it. I've always loved the scent of roses.

    Have a lovely Sunday, Kim.

  33. This sounds fab, Kim! We just brought back a supply of Lush bath bombs from the store in Ann Arbor, MI--yesterday. The fragrance hasn't been too strong for me, but I can certainly see where it wouldn't be for everyone. In fact, when I was shopping, one of the women working at the Lush store showed me a couple of bath bombs (newer scents) that she terms as more "subtly scented." 45. I've made a coffee and I'm enjoying catching up on your posts which I have missed while away on holiday. I'm a fan of Lush soaps but rarely use the other products. I like the way you can smell a Lush store before you see it! I love eating strawberries but I'm not always too keen on strawberry scented products but from your review it seems this is more rose. Another helpful review, Kim.

  46. OMG I LOVE Lush! They can have very strong scents though. I will have to check this out, since I rarely use shaving cream, it might last a lot longer for me, hehehe.

  47. Sounds like this product made quite the impression on you! As I mentioned before, I am a big fan of organic products, so I am definitely interested in this--- and lucky for me- I know where a lush store is in Singapore!

  49. This sounds amazing! I normally just use hair conditioner on my legs to shave, it moisturizes and smooths, but my legs have been feeling extra dry lately from the never ending heat. This might be a great product to get me through the end of summer.

  50. Funny I was just in the Lush store at King of Prussia mall on Saturday. I have known their products for a long time, and like that they are all natural. You are very correct in that most products are very pricey. I purchased a face wash to try, just a small size and I think it was at least $20. I am still on the fence whether I like it or not. I am not a fan of Rose scent especially if it is strong. Very good review my dear, as always!

  51. The scent (even if it's rose) sounds lovely! I'm lazy and it's too bad there isn't a dispenser. Thanks for th review dear!

  56. I adore Lush products, for the same reason you are not fond of them, their overpowering scent. My favourite is their jasmine hair conditioner, it makes you want to move your head to get a sniff of this fragrance! Have you ever tried their bath frizz balls? Such a treat! Happy Monday my dear!
