Bobbi Brown Bellini Mini Lip And Eye Palette Review

I know my older readers are saying, "Kim, how many neutral eye-shadow palettes are you going to purchase?" Let me tell you! I'm so glad I purchased them, because Spring is LOADED with pastels! Have you seen the new pantone colors? Rose quartz (pink) and Serenity (blue)! Mint green will also be popular! Some pastels (makeup) look good on me, but many don't! I purchased this Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Bellini Mini Lip & Eye Palette ($32) in November at Sephora's 20% off sale. It must've been VERY popular, because it sold out at Sephora, Macys, Bobbi Brown AND Nordstrom. But don't fear, I found a place you can buy it! It's called, Izzy's Perfume & Beauty Shoppe! LOL Never heard of them before. Can't vouch for them, but they have the palette (for $16 more OUCH). LOL What about the review Kim? Ok. Ok. LOL This is a DAY TO NIGHT palette, that is meant to travel with you. Bobbi Brown gives you THREE (3) MATTE NEUTRAL EYE SHADOWS in Bone (off-white), Sable (medium brown), and Rich Brown (deep warm brown); ONE (1) METALLIC EYE SHADOW IN GOLDEN PINK (pinky beige sparkle); ONE (1) SPARKLE EYE SHADOW IN BLAZING STAR (a pale beige); and ONE (1) HIGH SHIMMER LIP GLOSS IN BELLINI (a nude pink with pearl). The eye shadows are nicely pigmented and the shimmers are absolutely beautiful. My favorite is the metallic eye shadow in golden pink! In my eyes, it's more PEACH than pink (at least against my skin tone). Blazing Star is very ICY! So I can only see using it in the inner corners of the eye. The downside is that the matte shades are very basic & can be found in any neutral palette and the lip gloss, although a beautiful color is sticky (tacky)! It doesn't feel very good on the lips. HaHaHa But I still love this palette, because of it's size. It's very small and can easily be kept in a purse, cosmetic pouch or a drawer at work. The mattes will take you through the day. Add a little sparkle for night time events. The compact does not feel cheap at all! It feels very luxe, despite it's plastic packaging. The real mirror is awesome for applying everything. So is this something you need? No! BUT if you travel, commute a lot, and love nudes! Well this palette with BOTH basics and sparkle is definitely for you. It beats hauling all of those larger palettes! I will get some good use out of it. Just don't kiss anyone, because you two just may get STUCK (sticky lip gloss).

  6. I have a similar palette from Bobby Brown - the smoky nudes. I have to admit that I haven't been the most impressed with the shadows - they're good but not amazing and, for the price, I expected amazing results ;) But I can't deny that Bobbi Brown does make the best nude shades and this palette looks like no exception!

  16. I hate it when lip gloss is sticky. It was the only reason I stopped wearing lip gloss for like 10 years!

  19. Haaaa! No joke about next year's pantone colours! I saw them and instantly went 'no way, Jose' in my mind! LOL! I might be able to pull off the shades with clothes but makeup, not very likely cause I'm like you, most pastel shades look terrible on me.

I've been seeing a few reviews on this palette and I'm so glad to read an approval from you too, Kim. I got tons of neutral palettes but hey, never hurt to have another right?

Happy new year to you, Kim!

  24. The compact size of this palette is awesome since you can totally take it on the go. You can't really ever go wrong with a neutral palette even though these shades weren't all winners.
