Tatcha The Silk Canvas Review

Not Sponsored: Tatcha The Silk Canvas: Filter Finish Protective Primer is described as a "velvety priming balm of pressed silk [that] smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts." I purchased the travel size to test it out. It looks like round hand soap. It has a light floral scent. When you touch the primer, it turns into a cream. Its light pink in color. This primer looked white & pink on my skin. It felt good to my skin when I initially applied it, but I found it settled into and emphasized my fine lines. Tatcha mentioned that this primer stays out of the skin, and it literally does (and not in a good way). My makeup looked like it was sitting atop my skin. It looked chalky. My lines, including under my eyes were emphasized. I already have dry skin and my skin looked drier and chalky. If you apply too much of this, you'll get a residue (see my fingers below). This primer wasn't beneficial for my dry skin. Maybe this will work for other skin types (more oily skin types). Didn't work for me.
