When it comes to beauty products, you need to ensure that what you are using isn’t doing more harm than good. There are myths about natural beauty products. Here are some of the biggest.

Myth 1: Only Natural Shampoos are Good for Your Hair

One of the most widely believed myths is that natural shampoo is better for your hair than off-the-shelf or synthetic treatments. This myth couldn’t be further from the truth. The science of hair care is a complex and broad subject, with discoveries being made all the time. Suppose you are losing your hair. In that case, natural shampoo won’t do much to help you. You will likely need skin treatment and RGA hair growth products to fix the issue. Natural shampoos are better than some substandard synthetics but consider medicated shampoo for dandruff or lice.

Myth 2: Being Natural Means they are Organic

When it comes to beauty products, there is some confusion between the terms ‘natural’ and ‘organic.’ They are not the same. For something to be considered natural, it must have no artificial ingredients present and is made from minerals, plants, and/or animals only. However, these can be cultivated in less-than-adequate conditions, with minimal oversight. Organic refers to products that come from approved farms using specific methods that don’t process the products too much. Organic products are also minimally altered and contain no preservatives.

Myth 3: Natural Beauty Products are More Sustainable

Natural products are made from materials found in nature. Therefore, natural ingredients are considered less polluting, and because of this, the natural beauty industry is booming. For example, a study conducted in the United States found that almost 60% of consumers in the US look for the best natural beauty products. However, unlike organic products, natural beauty products are manufactured using various methods that contribute to climate change and sustainability issues without renewing the source of ingredients.

Myth 4: You Should Only Use Natural Skincare Creams

Consumers often buy natural beauty skincare products under the assumption they are better for their skin and safer. This just isn’t true. Many natural skin creams aren’t regulated by a specific body, and they can contain harmful toxins. Toxins such as botanicals and essential oils that can give you a severe allergic reaction. Because of this, you should keep in mind that natural doesn’t always mean safe. You should also remember that synthetic skin creams are formulated with medicinal purposes in mind, such as reducing eczema, that a “natural” product can’t.

Myth 5: Natural Beauty Products Are More Expensive

No one suggests you shouldn’t use natural products. There are many good ones available from reputable brands that care. More of a pro myth is that natural beauty products are expensive when this isn’t always the case. For the most part, the price is set by the brand, and the more “exclusive” or glamorous the brand, the more you pay. You can get alternative natural beauty brands far cheaper in almost all cases. A good tip is to look at the ingredients list and compare what you buy. Unless one brand has an ingredient you want, go with the lower-priced option.

Summary

There are many myths surrounding natural beauty products. Some help the brands, and others don’t. Natural products have some benefits, but they aren’t always the best option.
