EOS Product Review: Shave Cream, Lotion, Lip Balm

Have you heard of EOS (evolution of smooth)? There's been a lot of buzz about their beauty products around the blogosphere. Their products are dye-free, paraben free, phthalate free, lanolin free, gluten free, petrolatum free, hypoallergenic...ok, you get my drift. HaHaHa Their ad campaigns & packaging are really cute, but I wondered if their products actually worked? So, I put them to the test!

 Sweet-Bittersweet-Not Sweet
EOS Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream - Pomegranate Raspberry - $3.49
EOS Pomegranate Raspberry Shaving Cream is Sweet

Pros: I really like this shaving cream. The first thing that impressed me was the packaging (it's not in a METAL or TIN can hahaha)! It has a sturdy pump & replaceable cap. It's creamy, rich and has a thick consistency. It's not a foam like most brands. It's more like a thick lotion, but the results are the same. It has a very soft berry scent that can be detected before & after shaving. Your skin feels soft & smooth afterwards. They have an assortment of scents on their website, including one for sensitive skin.

Cons: The only negative I could think of was,  it's slightly pricier than your average shaving cream. However the packaging, scent and having super soft skin afterwards totally makes up for that.

EOS Revitalizing Care Hand & Body Lotion - Nourish - $7.99
EOS Nourish Lotion is Sweet

Pros: Nourish will work for ALL skin types, except anyone that has DRY skin (that would be me! i know! i mistakenly purchased the wrong one hahaha). Again, this product comes in a fabulous & sturdy container! It has an easy to use pump that dispenses just the right amount of product. This is a great everyday lotion. It's lightweight, absorbs quickly into the skin, is not greasy or sticky. It has a really soft neutral scent. So it won't conflict with any perfume you may put on. Also, this lotion is great for Spring and Summer. I think it's a little too lightweight for Fall/Winter.

Cons: Again, it's not for DRY skin types. If your skin is DRY, purchase EOS Boost (it's for DRY SKIN).

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm - Strawberry Sorbet - $3.29
EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm is Bittersweet

The first thing I want to say, is that these lip balms are selling like hotcakes! HaHaHa I think everyone is in love with the packaging. I must admit, the packaging for this product is really cute, but how good is it? Well, it easily twists open to reveal a cute ball of lip balm. It has a very nice berry scent. When you apply it, your lips DO feel moisturized and softer. However, for me it felt a little waxy when I applied it to my lips. It's also a little pricey for just one. There's an array of scents to choose from.

You may laugh at me, but I'm serious as a heart attack. The best lip balm / chapstick I've ever tried (and I've tried many) and still use today is Avon. I'm not kidding you! It's frickin' A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Right now I'm using Avon's Strawberry Fraise. The scent is fabulous, it moisturizes your lips exceptionally well, and right now it's only .69 (69 cents). You can keep Avon's lip balm for 2 years and it won't dry out! It's that good. The only thing is that it's not as environmentally friendly as EOS when you read the ingredients. But I LOVE it1

  9. These products seem great, I'm not sure that I could find them here in Finland though. I can almost smell the strawberry sorbet lip balm! Haha! I hope you're having a great day, darling!

  10. Hadn't heard of them before Kim, but that lip balm is so cute! What a different container! :)

I'm a Luca's pawpaw girl myself when it comes to lip balm - haven't found anything that compares to that. May be a little biased though, being a Queenslander ;)

  12. I've heard mixed reviews about the balm. But mostly what I gather from it is that people either love it or hate it. I think the packaging is super cute, although I think I'd be more inclined to try it if it had spf in it.

  13. I had no idea Eos had lotions and shave creams too! I love the lip balm. It's weird in the egg shaped container, but it's been one of the best lip balms ever. That and Burt's Bees :) Heather

  14. Hi Kim! I have been wondering how the lip balm is! Such cute packaging. Most lip balms leave my lips even more dry. I'll have to give the Avon one a whirl! Xo

  20. I like the sound of the hand and body lotion especially as it has a neutral scent which won't be in competition with perfume! I'm always influenced by the packaging and the lip balms are cute. However your Avon one seems to be a very good buy! Hope your week is going well, Kim.

  23. I have the EOS lipbalm and I love it. I don't think our drug stores here or groceries have stocked up on the eos shave cream. I bet the Pomegranate Raspberry Shaving cream smells great. Does it come in any other scents?
Oh and I know this is totally off topic but would you have any idea about what on earth is a cc cream? I have tried a few bb creams and have been using bb creams since last year and now I've recenly heard about cc creams and maybe even a dd cream. =)

  24. Oh I have like 3 bottles of that shaving cream because my brother-in-law is a coupon freak and ended up getting them for super cheap! Now I gotta use it!!

  25. I have to say that I am not the biggest fan of EOS lipblams. Except for the super cute container of course. I am very interesting in trying the shaving cream though.

  27. Love the review Kim and my sister actually had that shaving cream at her house and I used it and loved it although I usually just reach for the cheapest ones in stores. Also, the lip balm packaging is so cute and I like that I can just throw it in my purses. You reminded me I need to buy some more

  36. I love their packaging! but I haven't tried any of these. The shaving cream is a little expensive. I would love to try it one day, but I use a yummy body butter anyway for a delicious post-shave scent. :) And I need to get one of those lip balms- I keep seeing them everywhere! haha.

  38. Ooh, I need to find the lotion! I haven't seen in here in Canada and will have to pick it up on my next trip to the States

As for the lip balms - I love the EOS. But I find they're pretty hit and miss, and only work for certain people. I personally only like the mint or pomegranate flavour, some of the others totally turn me off! Great reviews as always, Kim! :)

  39. I did not know they did anything except lip balm - thanks for sharing Kim! The Balmi balm is similar to this but I actually like the texture even more xo

  43. Try Buddha Balm for lip balm. I prefer it to EOS. It's far creamier and better flavors.

  44. I tried one of those lip balms in peppermint...I just didn't like it...way too waxy. I like a little slip and glossy feel to my lip balms. Very neat packaging though. :)

  45. I love the lip balm container! It is disappointing that it feeds waxy!

  47. Buddha Balm is the only lip balm I will use. EOS is to bulky and I'm not a fan of how thin it goes own. Buddha Balm is all natural and is much tastier. Try it.
