Look Out Weekend...Cause Here I Come!

...Because Weekends Were Made For FUN! Anybody remember that song? Brownie points if you do! It's a HOLIDAY weekend here in the States. I'll be doing a little shopping, doubling up on movies (The Fast & Furious 6 and The Great Gatsby...I know! I know!! I haven't seen it yet.) and going out to eat this weekend. For all that are traveling, be safe & have a great time. If it's not a holiday weekend where you live, turn it into one! Try to put a little holiday spirit into every weekend! I put together a weekend shopping board for you. I hope the items make you SMILE :)

I Just Want To Add...

Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the US Armed Forces. I think about the vast number of soldiers (from all countries) who've lost their lives fighting in wars.Countries taking over other countries. Countries stealing from other countries. Countries telling other countries what to do. It's sad. Unless there is genocide or someone trying to blow your nation to smithereens, I don't like war. That money could help impoverished nations. Hell, we have a growing homeless and starving population right here in the US. Two weekends ago, I put together canned goods for the "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive for New Orleans. It's sad that so many people are still hungry and homeless. Gazillions were given to Haiti after the earthquake in 2010 and they're STILL living in tents. SAD!!!

I can't get over the brutal killing, of British soldier Lee Rigby, that happened in Woolwich just the other day. My heart & soul goes out to his family. One of the attackers, talked about revenge (so calmly) as he had just hacked Rigby to death and stood with bloody hands. When will we learn that revenge on any level, is never a good solution. It makes me ill. I never talk political on here, but wanted to address these topics, because of the upcoming holiday. Anyway, I salute my Uncle (living) who was a pilot in The Air Force and went on to fly US commercial planes as a career. He's now retired. Thank You! God Bless! Have A Great Weekend!

  3. Have a wonderful holiday weekend, Kim! Make the most of it :)

Also, thanks for bringing up these sensitive topics. I don't like talking politics in my blog either, I rather stick to happy topics, but I think it's important to be aware of the world we live in and try our best to make it a better place. And even a few sentences can make a small difference!

  5. Oh don't worry, I haven't seen the Great Gatsby yet either. Aha, you'll have to do a review of it after you see it!
Also, way to delve into political matters. It's good to bring them up now and then. I can't believe what happened to that soldier Lee. How awful and gut wrenching. It makes me feel sick :( Just shows what a sinful world we live in.
Which is why it's all the more important for us as Christians to be a living testimony!
Anyway, have a Happy Memorial Day Kim

  8. Happy Memorial Day, Kim! It's just a regular weekend here in Paris, but we've already had three holidays this month - I know! - so I don't think I can complain :) You'll have to tell us all about The Great Gatsby, I still haven't seen it, either!

  10. Have wonderful Memorial Weekend doll!! I don't like wars either, it is really sad that greed and hatred of things we don't understand cause us to go to war so much in this lifetime. The killing of the soldier here has been un-believable. Everyone is so outraged. The woman who stepped in and tried to help is a hero. I just wish this young man didn't have to pay the price for the ignorance of these men. Religion should never be used to justify killing someone. I just hope this man's family & children can come to have peace one day, though it will be hard. We need to fight back with love and spare no expense at hunting these people down and making sure they are off the streets every time & not be so soft on them as many governments have. Anyways....have a fun and exciting Memorial weekend my dear...relax and chill out :))) Love you too :)

  11. Hope you have a lovely weekend and have time to do something to mark your thanks for those who have fought and given their lives for our freedom.

I'm so shocked by the actions in London - and scared as my little sister will be there soon. London does not seem like a safe place to be at all.

  12. Kim,

You are updating so religiously that I could hardly keep up with all your posts.

I'm playing Debbie Deb's weekend song now. I just had to search for it on YouTube. I can't get any brownie point after all.

It is a long weekend here for us in Singapore due to Vesak Day today (Friday).

It is really lovely of you to do your part in feeding the hungry people in your nation.

I don't know what the brutal killing is about and started reading the article which you provide as a link. Sad to hear that Lee Rigby was killed simply because he is a British soldier. I really don't understand what goes through the mind of these senseless individuals.

  13. Kim, I sure hope your weekend is a fab one! It is definitely important to pause and reflect upon the reason for the Memorial Day Holiday and all the many issues (so many of them sad ones) that surround us. May your shopping and other adventures be memorable! Hugs, T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  54. Great weekend stuffs, it's bank holiday monday here too. I feel so sad about the mad brutal killing,Jeeeeeeeeeeeeez that was just the height of ''craze'' madness i call it!!! Ofcourse the earth gives you the grace of 5mins madness but not like this one, this one scares me and kept me on ''Hold'' I was thinking like mad, clueless, shaking like a fish thrown out of the sea.Looks like magic, feels like rewinding it shouldn't have ever happened, just a week ago i was on the road and i saw the bus hit a young man who carelessly jumped the barrier and landed right in front of the bus, i screamed.... cause i have never seen such. The earth needs ''detoxing'' sorry i meant big PRAYERS!!!
Have a very sweet bank holiday and stay blessed.
    Kisses...

  57. O, we've had a busy, fun weekend here too -- it was a long weekend (though the celebration was different). It looks like you had a wonderful time. If only everyone would just be filled with that same joy and zest for life; so very terrible what happened in the UK -- it reminds us to cherish peace, and keep peaceful.
