Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel Review & Swatches

Sponsored: If you have dry, sensitive and reactive skin LIKE ME! THE LAST thing you want to hear is PEEL, GLYCOLIC ACID, and a product that is ahem ... INTENSIVE! The lovely people at Murad (thanks to Dale of Savvy Spice blog) sent me A LOT of products to test the end of last year (read all my Murad reviews here). I have 3 left to review. I kept looking at the bottle of Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel and it kept looking at me. I was like, do I really want to go there??? I just pictured my skin turning red, burning, or a rash. My chin was already messed up from the Aveeno Absolutely Ageless, so I said ... YA KNOW ... let's go for it (cause things are already messed up)! It's a white cream and you place a layer of it all over your face. I even put some on my neck and the back of my hands. You wait 10 minutes and then you wash it off with a warm soaked wash cloth. I applied it. There was a little tingle, but DEFINITELY NOTHING ALARMING. I was like, IS THIS STUFF WORKING??? This has to be a joke! It felt like a cleanser! I removed it from the back of my hands with the warm washcloth and my hand was a shade LIGHTER. I was like WOW! So I removed it from my face & neck, and again I was a shade lighter. My skin felt soft. The little dry edges around my breakout came off and a couple of blackheads on the side of my nose disappeared. I was VERY IMPRESSED. Also realize, I NEVER burned and it didn't burn the little pimple I had on my chin. Murad states you can use this twice a week and I HAVE! It's that gentle. I read some reviews, where people (with other skin types) felt this was TOO GENTLE for them. It didn't do enough. All I can tell you, is that if you have a skin type like mine, this peel is your friend. This led me to do a little research and other peels I'm interested are from Juicy Beauty, REN Skincare and Dr. Dennis Gross. I probably wont try those until the end of this year or next, because I still have this one. Have you tried this? Do you use a peel? I've noticed my makeup really lays better once that dead skin is off. You notice NO skin peel-age or sloughing. The acid must melt it away. LOL This is very good and I highly recommend it!

  3. IT sounds like a great product Kim! :)

I've tired a peel in the past, it was a great one but very expensive so I'm back to just using my clay masks now. Like you, I found it was much gentler than I expected and worked really nicely for my skin!

  4. Glycolic Peels actually scared me until I tried one and I was really amazed by soft and radiant it made my skin. I'm using the Exuviance Non Acid Peel now which I really like but I might just check out this one when I'm finished it.

  5. Ooooh...this sounds promising for someone like me who has acne-prone skin. Since I've been doing the Asian skin care routine, I've been testing a lot of different products and patch-testing takes so long....argh! I'll keep this peel in mind when I finally settle into a fixed routine. Thanks for heads up on this, Kim:)

  7. The only peel solution that I have ever used is Neostrata Renewal Peel Solution but it smells like stale pee, it's sooooo bad and lingers! It works wonders though but I won't be repurchasing because of the scent. I'll pick this up once my Neostrata runs out.

  8. I recently tried a similar product from Juice Beauty and I was blown away by the results. It felt like nothing at all but when it came off... That was another story!

  10. I have not tried this one by Murad, but I have tried Dr. Dennis peel that I recieved in a swag bag, it didn't do wonders like many raved, but it did make my skin soft, but I have sensitive skin so that's probably why my skin got a bit irritated. I did get a pro-peel at a spa/facial place and that one was amazing. Thanks for letting us know about this product from Murad Kim. Very interesting. <3 /Madison

  11. I've never tried a peel before! I think the thought of it scares me like it did you. Now I kind of want to try one since you liked this, Kim! I think I have a little sample foil packed of a peel from Michael Todd that I should try, but I haven't yet because I didn't think it would be enough in there to cover my face lol! Let alone try a few times to see if it worked!
