Top 12 Snacks For Super Hair

You guys are awesome! I really enjoyed reading your comments and opinions regarding Victoria Beckham in my last post. There were definitely some eye-popping insights about her that I didn't know about. HaHaHa That's why I like connecting with you guys. So I thank you for your input!

For today, I came across a post on healthy hair and found it to be informative and interesting. It lists the top 12 snacks for super hair. I don't know why, but cheesecake, chocolate cake, nor ice cream seem to have made this list. HaHaHa I knew about some of these, but not all. So, I wanted to pass along this information to you and hope it's beneficial.

I buy fruit and nuts all of the time, but 5 out of 12 of these items are hardly ever on my grocery list. What about you? Do you eat a lot of what's listed here? Looks like I need to incorporate more of the following into my diet and I guess chocolate bars with almonds don't count huh? LOL You guys have a great day!

What's advice do you give others for healthy hair?

ALMONDS

This small snack is packed with vitamin E, which is great for circulation to the scalp.

WALNUTS
Great source of vitamin E which improves blood circulation on the scalp. Walnuts are source of zinc. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding

SUNFLOWER SEEDS
Sunflower seeds are high in protein, biotin, potassium, zinc, iron, B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium and calcium. Hair is made of proteins so this tasty snack will strengthen the hair! Beware of added sodium and flavors when buying this snack!

FIGS
Figs contain iron, magnesium, vitamins A, B & C, folic acid, zinc, sodium and potassium. They are 80% higher in potassium than bananas!

APRICOTS
This fruit contains iron, essential for hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying pigment in red blood cells. Iron deficiency leads to anemia, pale skin and thinning, undernourished hair.

BANANAS
Bananas contain an amino acid named tryptophan, an essential amino acid. This means the body needs it but can’t make it—we gotta eat it! It also contains natural oils that soften the hair when applied directly. Potassium adds softening properties to the hair shaft.

RASPBERRIES OR STRAWBERRIES
Berries contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E. This helps circulation of blood to the scalp.

ORANGES
Oranges contain vitamin C, a necessary nutrient for your body to keeps the fibers that create each hair together. Plus, beta carotene, found in other orange fruits and veggies is needed for cells to grow.

RAISINS
Rich in iron, raisins help keep oxygen flowing in the blood. The hair follicle needs all the nutrients it can get from circulation of healthy blood to the scalp.

PRUNES
Rich source of iron that keeps anemia at bay. Symptoms of anemia include fatigue, sallow skin, dry and flaking nails and dull hair.

SKIM MILK, SOY LATTE DECAF, OR FROZEN OR REGULAR LOW FAT YOGURT
Cow’s milk naturally contains vitamin A and B12. It also has biotin, a protein that will help strengthen your hair, which is made mostly of proteins.

WHOLE GRAIN CEREAL OR WHOLE GRAIN SNACK BAR
Contains vitamin B5 and inositol, a chemical compound that keeps the hair follicles healthy.

  1. Yum, I love fuits and nuts!! Although, saying it like that makes me think of the chocolate bar here called 'fruit and nut' haha. They are so important to health, I know not many people eat enough. I really try to and avoid the sweets, but I do hear them calling my name & I seem to answer, haha. But, I love strawberries :)))) And bananas too, will try to put more of these others in my diet as well!! Have a sweet day doll!! :)

  5. According to the list, I should have awesome hair!!! I guess that bleaching makes a healthy diet almost useless. By the way, millet is also great for hair growth and strength, though its taste is quite peculiar!! Lovely post, though reading diet tips makes me hungry 

  9. I happen to like most of these so this post made me smile. I thought avocado might be on the list as well since it does wonders for my skin when I eat it regularly. I find that skipping shampoo every other time and just rinsing and conditioning keeps my hair from drying out.

Thanks for your very sweet comment on my last post Kim! I know it's just a matter of time before I get back to normal. You inspire me as well cause you're such an awesome blogger and dear friend! And thank you for your order! Your print should be ready tomorrow and I'll be posting it to you. How I wish I could just put Daniel's in my shop. I'd be a rich woman haha ;P

  11. im going to be living off sunflower seeds, fresh fruits, and tofu over the next few weeks - so it's nice to see that a lot of the things i am focusing on getting more of are also good for my hair! hopefully my skin too. i really don't eat nuts since my husband is really, realy allergic. i have had incidents too many times where i ate one and then drank after him or something and voila! swelling up and not breathing husband. not fun!

  16. I didn't know that strawberries help hair. That's good because I eat a TON of them. Maybe that is why I have such gorgeous hair? :) My secret is simple -- wash it every other day, take good care of it, and keep up with haircuts and highlights. I'm a no muss-no fuss kind of girl.

  17. I knew about the nuts, but I'm really surprised about fruit being on the list. Who knew?! ;)

I have long hair and I'm pretty obsessed with it. Like, I don't dye it or have highlights or even blow dry that often. My goal is that one day, when I'm 70, I'm going to have gorgeous long gray hair that is still as shiny and soft as it is now. Hehe.

And I have a feeling this list is going to help me a TON! xoxo
