Party Girl

Flowers. Balloons. Sparkly Dresses. Shimmery Makeup. I love the glitz and pizzazz of the holidays. Everything is so festive and fun when it comes to fashion this time of year. I always try and incorporate those elements into my wardrobe. I feel they're so pretty. The other day I found a beautiful editorial which encompasses those things. It's called "Party Girl" and features model Xiao Wen Ju. You can find this photoshoot in Marie Claire China's December 2012 issue. It's lensed by Amber Gray and styled by Rodney Hall. Hair & Makeup is done by Antonio Diaz and David Tibolla. Ok, I just have one little quirk. Don't her shoes look a little funny in the last pic? They just don't seem to fit right. Maybe it's my eyes. Maybe it's the shape of the shoe. I don't know. So, have you gotten your sparkle ON for the holidays? Do you dress differently around holiday time?

  3. I love her dress. But you are right, her shoes look way too big for her, especially on her left foot. Unless it's the camera angle, there's no way her toes are that long! :)

  8. I think those shoes are about 2 sizes bigger than her size....
I USE to buy dresses for the holidays but lately i buy stuff i can incorporate into my every day wear, because i started to notice that i had dresses hanging there that had been only worn once on Christmas or New Years, never to be worn again...

  9. That's such a pretty and girlie inspiration - shame I've never really been a very pastel-y type... I do like to get a bit more glitter out for the festive season than the rest of the year though ;-)

  25. Lovely shoot and the shoes definitely look out of proportion with her body. I dress differently around this time of year, I wear a lot more red and heavier, richer fabrics like velvet and lots of sparkle, especially on my nails. I hope you're having an especially sparkle filled holiday season!

  27. the best thing about the chinese (more so for the japanese ones i think) editorials is the make-up..i have been obsessed about yellow and powder blue shadows lately..660s pop art-ish you know..i see the thing about the shoes as well..models apparently often have to model in shoes which are a bit too big or a bit too loose i have heard...

  28. Yeah the shoes look too big xD She is very pretty ^^

  29. Beautiful editorial :-) I like to wear bright red nail polish around holiday time, it's so Christmassy! The shoes do look disproportionate for those long thin awesome legs!!xoxo
