Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch #3 Peach Review

I first used Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat Radiant Touch $38 (shade #3 peach) back in the early 2000's. I loved it! For whatever reason, I stopped. I think the quality of foundations and concealers started getting better during this time and I didn't feel I needed it. I saw Touche Eclat recently and decided to try it again. YSL has it listed as both a CONCEALER and a HIGHLIGHTER. Forget the concealer part! In my experience, this will not cover up dark circles. You need a concealer! What Touche Eclat WILL DO is BRIGHTEN your under eye area and make you look more rested! Take it down your nose, for added LUMINOSITY! I applied my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. I then used Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer. THEN I applied Touch Eclat under my eyes and down my nose. I can't use Touche Eclat alone. I have to use a concealer and then Touch Eclat. It won't give me the coverage I need. But it does BRIGHTEN UP MY FACE! It's really good. Touch Eclat is a gold mechanical pen with brush. When you first get yours, you will have to click it at least 40 times until the product comes out (ysl says it takes 20 clicks...trust me it's 40). Then the product comes out into the brush! Brush the product under your eyes and atop your nose. Brush it anywhere you want luminosity (added light). Let it sit for a minute and then either use a Beautyblender or your finger to work the product into your skin. Use it atop your makeup. It's very pretty. Yesterday, I reviewed Becca's Under Eye Brightening Corrector. It's another great option, but it's strictly for underneath the eyes. Becca's corrector provides excellent coverage for dark circles. So really, these two products are different and will depend on what your needs are! I'll probably use Touche Eclat atop my Tarte Concealer or the Becca corrector depending on how much coverage I need that particular day. Of course you can use highlighters to add glow to your cheeks & nose. But the under eye area is different. This pen gives that area a little lift. Another option is mixing a liquid skin perfector into your foundation (for glow), like Becca's Champagne Pop Liquid. But this will give your skin an all over glow. This pen is great because you can add luminosity directly to your under eye area. Also, be sure to wash the brush at least each week! Touche Eclat is a fancy pantsy product that you don't necessarily need, but WORKS! It adds a nice touch to your makeup.
