How To Make Your Next Birthday The Best One Ever!

Birthdays are so much fun, and since they (obviously) come around every year, you can change up how you celebrate each time. If you enjoy a good party with the people you love, keep reading for some great ways to mark the occasion.

Find the Perfect Venue

The setting is everything when it comes to pulling off a memorable party. You want it to be big enough to comfortably fit all of your favorite people but not so big that everyone is too spread out to mingle and enjoy one another’s company. Once you find the ideal venue for social events gathering, book it right away!

An outdoor setting is just right for warmer temperatures and adds a fun vibe to the event. And indoors are fitting in any season, of course. Reserving a space with an on-site chef and a full bar option makes it easier on you so you do not have to coordinate with other vendors or lug food and drinks when you really just want to have fun.

Create Photo Opportunities

Back in the day, a host or hostess might have placed disposable cameras on the dinner tables with a little sign asking their guests to take photos throughout the party. The photos were always a fun surprise to behold once the film was developed.

With a smartphone in every hand, photo opps are abundant. Instead of providing a camera, place a cute placard on each table or give each guest a printed note card upon arrival. The card should include ideas for taking photos or a photo challenge list. You can even offer prizes for whoever finishes the challenge first. Create a shared website for everyone to upload their photos after (or during the party).

Another great idea is to make a selfie wall at the party venue. Watch this video for a quick and easy idea.

Request a Donation in Lieu of Gifts

If you are at a point in your life where you do not want or need any more material possessions, or if you simply wish to do some good for the world, consider changing the gift-giving dynamic at your party. As part of their party invitation, ask your attendees to bring a donation instead of a gift. The donation can be either monetary or a specifically requested item from a charity organization.

Some ideas for charity organizations might include:

  • Animal Shelter or Rescue
  • Women and Children’s Shelter
  • Men’s Homeless Shelter
  • Food Pantry
  • Teen Center
  • Local School
  • Senior Care Center
  • Local Library

Always contact your chosen charity in advance to learn about the items they need. Many have wish lists on their respective websites, as well.

Keep the memories alive by taking and sharing photos of the special event. And remember, your birthday will come around again next year - so you get to have fun over and over again!
