Milani Tea Rose Powder Blush Review

This is a product review for Milani Cosmetics. I received a Limited Edition Rose Powder Blush in Tea Rose (08) for review.
All opinions are 100% my own. [Press Sample]

This is my first time trying Milani Cosmetics. They sent me their Limited Edition Rose Powder Blush in Tea Rose (08) to review. It's a gorgeous pink and I must say I'm very impressed! Upon opening the cover, I said "Hello Gorgeous"! HaHaHa What? You don't talk to your beauty products? HaHaHa

This rose petal palette is dimensional and beautiful. I was surprised to see such artistry from a drugstore brand! I then thought maybe the color would be weak. I was wrong! The pigmentation is awesome. The color is build-able. Excellent first impressions! All for $7.99! Oooh, Milani is smelling like a rose!

I really like THIS shade of pink and I've never been a big fan of rose-colored anything (makeup, jewelry, etc). HaHaHa Swirl your blush brush lightly into the palette. Blow off the excess (yes, you will have excess). Apply with a light hand. This blush is pigmented, so you don't want to overdo it. The staying power (wear time for me) was about 5 hours. Now, every rose does have its thorns! I've read reviews that stated this blush was chalky and powdery. I detected a little bit of each, but it wasn't doom or gloom (at all). To test this, I used dry hands (no lotion) to see how the blush would swatch on non-moisturized, non-primed, and for me (DRY) skin. This would be the worse case scenario, because most of us prime and moisturize our skin (face) before applying makeup. So look below! This blush doesn't look bad at all! The only other little thorn is the case (packaging). It's a hearty-feel-good-in-the-palm-of-your-hands case, but it does scratch easily (both the gold & plastic lid). So even though the contents on the inside are REALLY PRETTY, the outside gets scratchy & smudgy :(.  However, the cover closes tightly and snaps securely. So there's no product fall out, in your precious cosmetic bag or even worse purse :).

I took two snapshots wearing my Milani Tea Rose Powder Blush, with the curtains open (sunlight) and closed (shade). I thought this would give you a good idea of how it looks in different lighting. I REALLY liked how it looked on me. It's uplifting and I think it will be perfect for Spring & Summer. Milani's Tea Rose Powder Blush beats out the Dior Cherie Bow Blush I paid quadruple for last year (I use it, but still disappointed in it! HaHaHa) Despite the little quirks of Milani, I still give it a SWEET rating. What are your thoughts? Have you tried Milani Cosmetics?

  3. These remind me so much of the clinique blushes! But at a much more affordable price! They look super pigmented but I expected that from milani since their baked blushes are really good too!
I have to agree that the packaging isn't the best but I guess that for the price I can't complain too much..
The color you got there is the prettiest from the line in my opinion!

  8. All considered I think it's a good product and I don't mind if the external package is not that glossy. Tea Rose shade really looks great on you, providing a soft romantic glow. I would choose that same shade too!

  23. That is really beautiful Kim, so beautiful I don't want to use it to mess up the beautiful rose. Looks promising really and the swatch is great and specially after you applied it. I wonder though it's staying power all day long? Have a great weekend.

  26. I don't think I have tried the Milani brand before but I have seen it in drug stores and beauty stores. I really think the shade of blush suits you and $7.99 for 5 hours of wear, can't really complain there.

I love how they have it shaped like a delicate rose. Very feminine and dainty.
