Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I would like to wrap up my reviews on REN this week, by reviewing their Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic (Neiman Marcus, Selfridges, SpaceNK, Net A Porter, Sephora, Bloomingdales). This is a deluxe sample that I received with my order. The first thing that comes to mind when you look at this tonic (or at least for me) is Pixi's Glow Tonic (reviewed here)(Selfridges, Kohls, Target). Well REN's tonic is also a face exfoliator and resurfacing toner in one. It promotes natural cell turnover (even skin tone), diminishes the appearance of pores, and it unveils a lit-from-within glow. The natural bio-actives in this formula are Lactic Acid (AHA), Salicin (BHA) from Willow Bark Extract, Azelaic Acid Precursors from Grains. REN tells you to use this morning and night BEFORE your serum. Apply with a cotton pad and swipe across your face. Sensitive skin types should only use this once or twice a week. You should also use adequate sun protection while using this product, because this can make skin more sun-sensitive. Let me share my thoughts! It has a citrus-y scent. I love the fact that it just doesn't pour out of the container. It dispenses in droplets, so you can control the amount applied. It's MUCH GENTLER than Pixi's Glow Tonic. So its much better for Sensitive Skin Types. I didn't experience any adverse reactions. No redness or irritation. My skin had a WONDERFUL GLOW after using this product. BEAUTIFUL! Even better than with the Pixi Glow Tonic. So WHY the Bittersweet Rating? My skin felt sticky after using this tonic (still wet) and I had to wait 30 minutes for it to dry down. Still feeling my skin, there was still a slight tack to it. Personally, I don't want to feel that afterwards. If that doesn't bother you, then it should be ok. It's just I have other products I want to layer on my skin afterwards. So that's my quirk. Plus, their Radiance Perfection Serum and Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream that I reviewed earlier this week gives my skin just enough glow for me. What about exfoliation? I am super satisfied with Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peel Pads (reviewed here)(Selfridges, Net A Porter, Nordstrom, Dillards, Sephora). They are SUPER AWESOME. So all in all, this product is just not for me. Minus the stickiness, it's SUPERB! There's just too much tack.
