Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Review

Not Sponsored: I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I've been wanting to try Sol de Janeiro's products for awhile. I always hear wonderful things. I didn't know anything about the company, so I took a look at their website. On their website, it states Sol de Janeiro is a Brazilian brand. So I was surprised when I found out the co-founder is Korean (she formerly worked for Estee Lauder/L'Oreal in skincare). I was like ok ... then the founder must be Brazilian. I watched a video on Sol de Janeiro's website (I attached the video below) and the co-founder who is Korean met a Japanese/American/Brazilian guy in New York ... fell in love and started this company. Interesting? It's a very informative video about the people and culture of Brazil. I encourage you to view it, because you'll learn a lot. Well, I've heard endless praises of their original Bum Bum Cream (which I will talk about tomorrow). They just released a new collection (new scent) called Coco Cabana. I purchased the limited edition Sol de Janeiro Samba Mama Coco Cabana Trio Set from Sephora (also at Revolve) This set consists of Sol de Janeiro's Coco Cabana Cream (Selfridges, Revolve, Sephora, Harrods) Coco Cabana Hand Cream and Coco Cabana Fragrance Body Mist (Sephora, Revolve). I LOVE THE SCENT! It's toasted coconut, creamy caramel and buttery praline. You know I love gourmand scents! It also has fermented sugar, coconut oil and cupuacu butter in it. Sol de Janeiro also states [this is],"Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and uses recycled packaging." The scent is delectable! What about the formula? The Coco Cabana Cream is white, creamy, non-greasy and goes on lush. It dries down really quick. I would say it provides lightweight moisture, which is perfect for the Summer months. After you apply the Coco Cabana Cream, spritz on the Coco Cabana Body Fragrance Mist. The reason I say after the cream, because it makes the fragrance "stick". Together they are a great pair and work well together. I encourage you to use the cream & mist together. For some reason, I was slightly disappointed with the hand cream. It didn't give off the same scent (intensity) as the other two products. It was however creamy and felt great on my hands. It's lightweight as well. As with any scented products, I encourage you to go to the store and test a sample. I love this scent, but others prefer the original scent. I have BOTH and they are two ENTIRELY different scents. So the reviews online show that difference. Either you will be TEAM COCO CABANA or TEAM BRAZILIAN which has more of a fruity scent. Some people stated this smells like buttered popcorn LOL To me it smells like a toasted almond cookie.
