Sunday Riley Good Genes, Tidal Moisturizer and C.E.O Rapid Flash Brightening Serum Review

Not Sponsored: Wednesday, I reviewed products in the Sunday Riley C.E.O Vitamin C Kit. The second kit that I purchased was Sunday Riley's Bright Young Thing (QVC, Revolve, Barneys New York, Dermstore, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Urban Outfitters, Macys). It contains Good Genes, Tidal Water Cream Moisturizer and C.E.O Brightening Serum. I've had a chance to try each product and below are my thoughts on each.

Sunday Riley | Good Genes LACTIC ACID (there's also a GLYCOLIC ACID version) Treatment - Supersweet
Many sing the praises of Sunday Riley's Good Genes and after trying this product I stand with them. When you can feel and see the difference in your skin after just ONE TREATMENT, that says a lot. Before discussing this product, I want you to read an article I found on the internet. It talks about the difference between Lactic & Glycolic Acid. The reason why I'm mentioning this is because, this kit contains Good Genes with LACTIC ACID (look at the label). There is also a Good Genes with GLYCOLIC ACID (look at the label) ... however not in this kit). Both acids are really good (one is stronger than the other). I didn't know the difference (and so I felt that article would be helpful to others as well). I have dry, sensitive and reactive skin, so anytime I see the word acid I get scared. Well there's no need to with Good Genes (LACTIC ACID). I had no bad reactions...just great results. Sunday Riley states, "Good Genes deeply exfoliates the dull surface of the skin for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of age spots and discolorations. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 minutes." When dispensed, this product looks like a white cream. I immediately took offense to the scent. I questioned, whether I should put this stuff on my face. You guys it smells like shoe polish (people say its lemongrass. It smells like lemon shoe polish hahaha). I placed a dot on each area of my face (cheeks, forehead and chin) and worked it in. When it dries, you can visibly see a clear layer on your skin. So I only used this at night (and I suggest you use this at night). I experience no burning, redness etc while using this product. When you first apply, there may be a tingle, but it doesn't hurt. Now let me tell you about my results. By morning, my skin felt so soft to the touch, supple, and tighter. My skin looked smooth and radiant. A medication I was taking, caused 3 ugly pimples (almost cystic) right underneath my chin and on my neck. Good Genes on the first night started breaking them up and sloughing them away. I think a couple more days and they'll be gone. Another visible improvement I noticed were my laugh lines. I don't know if its because of the plumping or acid, but they are less noticeable. I definitely will incorporate this product into my beauty regime. As with all AHA's you definitely want to use a sunscreen with this product because acids exfoliate your top skin layers. I'm also thinking about trying this on the back of my hands at night. Other products that contain acids that have really impressed me are Drunk Elephant's TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum paired with their Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (reviewed here). I felt an immediate difference in my skin when I used both together. So that is a Glycolic Acid product. I also love Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peel Pads that contain 3 gentle acids (reviewed here). The only acid I haven't gotten along with is ferulic acid (see here) and this article talks about how people with sensitive skin may have a reaction to it. This is considered CHEMICAL EXFOLIATION. Many people are moving away from PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION (scrubs), because of abrasiveness. I'm finding chemical exfoliation a lot more effective.

Sunday Riley | Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream Moisturizer - Bittersweet
The Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream Moisturizer reminds me of Peter Thomas Roth's Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer (reviewed here). This moisturizer has a walk on the beach kind of scent. It's aqua green in color. Very light. It sinks into the skin. It feels hydrating, but in my opinion (as it dries) it provides light moisture. This may be great for oily, normal and combination skin types. But for dry types like myself I know I need something more. My skin felt soft after using this, but I know I need more moisture.

Sunday Riley | C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum w/15% Vitamin C - Sweet
I reviewed Sunday Riley's Vitamin C Brightening Serum yesterday. Please click here for the full review.

A couple of Sunday Riley products didn't work for me, but many did. I'm very open to trying more of them. As I purchase and test them out, I will definitely share my thoughts with you :)
