Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser and Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer Review

For the past month, I've been testing out some skincare products that promise MOISTURE. So I would like to review & share my thoughts with you about those products this week. Let me start with Peter Thomas Roth's Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser ($28) and Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer ($22-$52). I've never tried anything from Peter Thomas Roth! I wanted to try his Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, but I knew my dry-sensitive skin wouldn't be able to handle it. So when the brand came out with a Water Drench Collection, I knew I had to try it. I purchased this deluxe sample set at Sephora, but there is a NEW one (Soak it up Set, $58) that also contains a deluxe sample jar of his cucumber gel mask extreme de-tox hydrator. I love that companies are making deluxe sample sizes, so you can see if the product works for you or not. Below are my thoughts on each. I can tell you now, I really like them :)

The larger tube you see below is the deluxe sample I received in this box. The smaller tube was a sample that was sent with my order. Between the two, I was able to try this cleanser for an entire month. The brand describes this cleanser as a gentle, frothy, non-stripping, whipped cleanser and makeup remover that's good for ALL SKIN TYPES. I agree! ALL SKIN TYPES can use this cleanser with no problem. I have dry-sensitive skin, and my skin never felt stripped, parched or dry while using this cleanser. It's light, white and creamy. I applied it to my face and it removed all of my everyday makeup. Eyeliner and heavy mascara will require a makeup remover. But this cleanser worked great. I must warn you, it does have a CLINICAL SCENT! It smells so sterile, that you think you're in a hospital. I was like wow, talk about scentless. This cleanser contains hyaluronic acid and sodium PCA to improve hydration. It also contains silk proteins and marshmallow root extract to leave the skin silky soft and smooth. This cleanser worked really well for me and my dry skin. In comparison to other brands I've tried, I still super love my REN skincare products. But the Peter Thomas Roth is right up there with other skincare that I love and that works for dry skin such as  IT Cosmetics and Lumene.

This moisturizer is dreamy! Just look at the empty jar below! This moisturizer is lightweight. It's bouncy. Take a dab. Apply it to your face. It feels like a splash of water. A drink of water for your skin. The effect is so magical. I've never experienced anything like it. The brand describes it as '"a concentrated 30 percent hyaluronic acid cream that transforms atmospheric vapor into fresh, pure water, providing your skin with a continuous burst of intense hydration that lasts up to 72 hours." I agree with everything but the 72 hour part. Maybe 24 hours, but not 3 days. My skin loved it. This will work great for ALL SKIN TYPES. It's not overwhelming. It's not greasy, oily or overly moisturizing. The only thing I want to mention is that for DRY SKIN TYPES (such as myself), this will work great during the Summer months. But you might need (I know I would need) something more hydrating during the Winter months. Also, this moisturizer didn't conflict with my makeup application. So if your skin needs a drink of moisture before makeup, this moisturizer works great. The brand goes on to say, "Three molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid—a potent hydrator that constantly attracts and retains up to 1,000 times its weight in water from moisture in the atmosphere—helps replenish skin to make it appear more supple, full, and smooth. Ceramides help lock in moisture, ProHyal+® helps improve hydration for healthier-looking skin, and antioxidant-rich elderberry helps defy the look of aging. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is visibly reduced, leaving a silky, hydrated, and more youthful-looking complexion."
