Drinko, I Mean Cinco de Mayo...

Happy Monday Everybody! How was your weekend? I had a festive one. As you ladies and gents already know, it was Cinco de Mayo (LOL aka Drinko de Mayo) Saturday. So I went to a popular Mexican restaurant here in New Orleans called Superior Grill on St. Charles Avenue. Got there before the stampede. By the time we ordered, all the tables were filled. HaHa I had Tortillas & Salsa, Margaritas, Barq's Root Beer, and Chicken & Steak Fajitas. Mmm Mmm! I love Mexican food. Did you guys go out? Do you like Mexican food? What's your favorite?

My mom's birthday was last weekend, so I also included a pic of her cake from Swiss Confectionery. Very simple, but very good this year (yellow & white). Last year, I took her to Las Vegas for her birthday and had Freed's Bakery of Las Vegas make her a cake. Adorable! If you're in Vegas and need a cake delivered to your hotel room (we stayed at The Venetian) they will do it and their cakes taste SO GOOD! Ok, talk to you guys tomorrow! :)

  43. Welcome back, Kim! It's good to have respite from blogging because it can be so overwhelming at times. It's a full time hobby! What a lovely thing to do for your mom. One day, I'd love to try authentic Mexican cuisine, not the fakeroo ones we get here in the UK.
