Food Glorious Food! Cincinnati Style!

Ready for a calorie fest? Well I have a feast for your eyes. HaHaHa Every city is known for certain dishes and foods. Cincinnati is no exception. They have some wonderful places to eat. From fast food to fine dining that city will satisfy every palette and also every budget. While on my Hurrication, I was able to get to a few. I know I put on some pounds while I was there, but the food was so good! Take a look for yourself!

Frisch's Big Boy
Family Restaurant

This is not your ordinary hamburger joint you guys! If you're in Cincinnati, Ya Gott get a Super Big Boy hamburger! Don't worry about the size, because unlike other burgers they're light and will melt in your mouth. So good! I get one every time I go there. Their milkshakes are hand dipped and delicious. Get some onion rings and definitely try one of their homemade pies.Yummy Goodness!

Skyline Chili Restaurant

Chili!!! The words Cincinnati and Chili are synonymous. They eat chili year round in Cincinnati. They love it and so do I! So I had to make a stop at Skyline Chili. Their chili cheese coneys and spaghetti chili are simply awesome. My mom and I weren't use to the terminology of what to put on them, so the lady at the register figured out everything we needed. She was very knowledgeable and a doll. I couldn't get over the gentlemen that work there and put the orders together! They were dressed beyond impeccably (like doctors), organized and serious. Skyline has excellent employees and great food!!!

Germano's Italian Ristorante
Meet my friend Leah! Everyone say HELLO. I've been friends with Leah for several years now. She graduated from Ursuline in Cincinnati, I graduated from Ursuline here in New Orleans and that's how we became friends. Leah is so cool, her license plate even bares her name. HaHaHa She treated me to dinner while I was in town and we had a blast! Literally closed the place down. HaHaHa She couldn't have picked a better restaurant. Germano's is a fabulous authentic Italian fine dining restaurant nestled between ritzy shops, hair salons, and gorgeous cobblestone walkways adorned with hanging plants. It's located in the City of Montgomery . You are treated like family as soon as you arrive. The staff, upon finding out I was from New Orleans truly made me feel welcome and gave me lots of extras. Leah and I enjoyed BOTH of our entrees. Mr. Germano himself poured me a complimentary lemon cello. So tasty!!! Love him and the drink! Thanks! And if you get a chance to eat at this restaurant, you definitely have to have a slice of their raspberry pie. Oh my GOD, is it good! I'm not much of a raspberry person, but this pie will make you leap for JOY and (as we say in Louisiana) slap ya momma! It's THAT GOOD! Thanks Leah, for taking me to Germano's!!! You're a doll!

(Located everywhere except Louisiana and some other States haha)

I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. A great source for when you want to locate places in the city you're visiting. We don't have this restaurant in New Orleans or Louisiana for that matter. So I had to make a stop. Love the charm of the restaurant inside and out. The fork statue, located outside was just too cute. The Original Pancake House gives you LOTS of food! I've never had an omelette that big and their pancakes were very tasty and light. Have you been to one? I really liked it.

Red Lobster Seafood Restaurant
(Located Everywhere...Almost!)

Many people in New Orleans don't go to Red Lobster because there are so many other seafood restaurants. However, I've been to the one in New Orleans and it's great. Well my aunt LOVES Red Lobster in Cincinnati! HaHaHa She wanted to go, so we all went. It was very nice! The waitress was great. The food was great. I decided to try something different. I had their New York Strip with lobster, shrimp, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Very good! Try their Sunset Passion Colada. I could drink several of these. HaHaHa And ya can't go wrong with their Strawberry Cheesecake. Oooh, we ate up the biscuits before I could take a pic! HaHaHa Their biscuits are addictive!

Are you ready for dessert? You'll have to wait until tomorrow!
In my next blog post, I'll showcase some Cincinnati TREATS!  Prepare to have a SWEET TOOTH.

  14. Oh my gosh, good thing I just ate lunch! We have Big Boy's here too, so I know what you mean about melt in your mouth burgers ;) ... we also have an Original Pancake House ... a favorite breakfast place! And, oh my gosh ... that raspberry pie photo with the layer of creme something underneath it? We used to have a restaurant in our town that made what looked like that VERY same pie. It was my favorite. One year I actually ordered it for my birthday cake!! The restaurant changed hands and I failed to get the recipe! The creme under the fresh raspberries wasn't cheesecake on this one, was yours? It was like a thick whipped cream, sort of. Brought back memories!

Thanks for stopping by, darling Kim ... as you can tell, autumn is on my list of favorite things! ~xoSandy

  30. Oh my goodness I've never seen so much food in one post! YUM! I do love a good hamburger, I'm very picky- the basics have to be perfect. If the meat and the bun aren't amazing, it's not even worth trying! That omelette looks amazing! I wonder how many eggs that took?! 5?!

  34. everytime my sister comes into town she goes to frisch's. i'm not big on it - i like the salad bar or the breakfast bar a lot, but other than that, it's not up there. and i have never liked skyline!! can you believe it? everyone went there growing up (again to this same location - so imagine it, high school me in that restaurant awkwardly eating crackers while everyone else ate chili!)its great to see all of these places i recognize and grew up with from another eye - i've been to all of these places (except the pancake house - i've driven by it, it's right next to a cute yarn shop i used to shop at)
