The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for AVEENO®. I'm a 2014 AVEENO® Ambassador. All opinions are 100% my own. I received a 12 oz bottle of AVEENO® Daily Moisturizing Lotion and a $100 Visa gift card for participating in the #AveenoDailyChallenge. Come with me on my three week personal journey, as I commit to activities that will help me de-stress, meditate, reflect, and take time for myself. I'll be using AVEENO® Daily Moisturizing Lotion everyday, along the way.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This post is interactive. Dial 504.799.0176 Enter the sculpture number followed by the # key.
It will tell you about each sculpture. Cell & telephone rates apply. This is a US number.

Challenge #15 (The Final AVEENO® De-Stress Challenge) - A Real Life Wonderland - I've blogged about Storyland, Morning Call and the Peristyle in City Park, but I've never visited The Sculpture Garden. I thought it contained a couple of sculptures! Boy, was I wrong! There are MANY and once you step through the gates, you'll feel like you're in a different world. If you visit New Orleans, put this on your to-do-list. It's open 7 days a week (closed on legal holidays), it's FREE & there are over 64 sculptures. You will feel like you're Alice In Wonderland (but grown up). It's sweet. It's trippy. It's omg'd. There's literally a surprise around every corner. It has an Asian aesthetic to it. It's peaceful. It's tranquil. It's serene. This would be a fabulous place to propose (some spots are so romantic). I would be tickled pink. Guess what? They also show vintage movies in the evenings (Friday's) during the Spring/Summer (check listings & weather). How fab! I want to go! I always think about the scene with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner, when I hear about an outdoor classic movie. So sweet! So romantic! The Sculpture Garden is right next to The New Orleans Museum Of Art (I'll have to do a post on that next. They don't allow pics, but I'll show you the outside & cafe). This is my NEW outdoor WONDERLAND! I definitely want to go back and take it all in. I hope I captured it's essence for you below. Click on the pictures below to make them larger. Each sculpture has an amazing story (dial the number above, enter the sculpture number and then press the # key...telephone/cell rates apply). Thank You AVEENO! The last 3 weeks have truly been amazing! I found new ways to de-stress and learned how to put a new spin on old ones. This challenge definitely made me think differently. FYI AVSB Readers: My next blog post will be Wednesday. My dress below is from Garnet Hill.
