Augustinus Bader | The Lip Balm Review

Not Sponsored: One of my goals for 2022, is to do a "Beauty Brand Branch Out". For the past several years, I've been reviewing pretty much the same brands, so I felt the need to shake things up a bit. I've been hearing a lot about the skincare brand Augustinus Bader. So, I thought I would start there. To give you a little background, Augustinus Bader is a biomedical scientist and physician. He is an expert in the field of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. He has spent over 30 years researching and developing technologies that activate and harness the human body's capacity to heal (trauma, aging, etc). Professor Bader is currently the director of Cell Techniques and Applied Stem Cell Biology at The University of Leipzig, in Leipzig, Germany where he lives with his family. His skincare is composed of TFC8 Technology (Trigger Factor Complex). It's a patented formula that powers his skincare. Comprised of natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and synthesized molecules naturally found in the body, TFC8® nourishes and protects the skin while taking a personalized approach to supporting the skin’s innate potential for renewal.

So What Are My Thoughts About Augustinus Bader's The Lip Balm? (Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges) It's powered by patented TFC8 technology. It's ingredients include Vitamin E, Candelilla Wax, Shea Butter, Bisabolol, Castor Seed Oil, and a Lip Plumping Complex. It's fragrance free. It's also Vegan. It promises to hydrate, nourish, replenish, soften and plump dehydrated lips. I found the lip balm to be very moisturizing. It felt really good to my lips. It was moisturizing. It was hydrating. My lips felt nourished. They felt protected, when in cold weather. My lips did plump up without feeling anything. Two things stood out while using this lip balm in comparison to my favorite lip balm (Fresh Beauty Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment Lip Balm). I felt Augustinus Bader's The Lip Balm lasted longer. I would apply it at night and by morning it was still on my lips. So, it's very long-lasting. It also has a lighter/thinner consistency than the Fresh brand (but the consistency of Fresh didn't bother me). So then, it just comes down to price when comparing the two. Bader's is currently $40 and Fresh is $26. If you want super-long lasting and a slightly thinner consistency, buy Bader. If you want to save $14, reapply just one extra time and a slightly thicker consistency get Fresh. I'm going to stick with Fresh. This lip balm is excellent, but so is Fresh. Those are my thoughts.

  1. This sounds great, Kim, but with the price, I'd probably stick to Fresh. Thanks for the review and comparison!
