Jill Stuart My Dear Strawberry Collection

I knew Jill Stuart (US Fashion Designer) designed clothes, but I didn't know she also created bath & body, skincare and cosmetic collections. So curious me, went to Jill Stuart Beauty (online shop) to take a look and everything was written in Chinese/Japanese (Asian)! HaHaHa Her products (for the most part) are sold exclusively in Asia. After a little research, I figured out the collection I wanted to try. It was called, My Dear Strawberry Collection (Limited Edition - Christmas 2013). That was her latest collection (at the time). So I purchased it, through a Hong Kong eBay seller around Christmas. It felt kind of funny talking about this collection during the Winter months, so I decided to save my review for Spring. Jill Stuart Beauty products can be found on eBay, Gilt, Sasa.com, Yes Style, and Cosme-de.com. The inventory and selections can vary, so you'll have to do a search. To me, her collections only slightly vary (packaging) and for the most part look the same. The biggest variances are colors. So here's my review of the My Dear Strawberry Collection.
Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Jill Stuart Ripen Strawberry Nail Lacquer - Sweet
I really like Jill Stuart's nail lacquer. It's easy to apply, it dries SUPER fast and the color is absolutely gorgeous. When I look at the color of this nail polish on me, it looks like a salmon pink or strawberries with cream shade. The color is soft and unique. It lasted about 4 days. The packaging is cute and has some weight to it. It has a rippled base and the top (brush portion) reminds me of a crown (swarovski crystal). It has a medium width brush. In December, this nail lacquer did have a strawberry scent, but now (May) it just smells like nail polish. LOL I still love it and would definitely buy more of Stuart's nail polishes. From THIS collection, this nail lacquer is also offered in whipped cream and argent sugar. Most are still available on YesStyle and eBay.

Jill Stuart Strawberry Cream Cake Eyeshadow - Sweet
Did somebody say CAKE? HaHaHa The eye-shadow's are velvety smooth. The colors are soft. I swatched them for you below. I've been using the pale pink (to me its off white), soft beige & strawberry brown. I'm really not for pink on my eyes, so I've been using it as a blush. Shhh! Don't tell. LOL The case is a heavy "crystal" with faux lace and strawberries on it. It has an inside mirror. All of the cases, will remind you of your childhood. However the makeup is grown-up. No scent.

Jill Stuart Strawberry Powder - Sweet
This is a translucent powder. When opened, it's divided into two-halves with netting. There's a peachy-pink side and pink lavender side. For me, a nice dusting pulls my makeup together. Because of my hue, I don't use a lot. I'll look like a ghost. LOL So anyone darker than me, I wouldn't advise. It would come across ashy. If you're fair, pile it on! LOL This compact has a mirror inside and comes with a powder puff. The powder puff is really soft. This compact has bow, lace and strawberry details. No scent.

Jill Stuart Blooming Curl Lash Strawberry Chocolate - Sweet
This is a DARK BROWN mascara. I really liked it. First of all, no clumps. Second of all, no smudges. Third of all no fall out. Creamy and dreamy. It does a great job with lengthening your lashes. Not so much for volume. This had a great chocolate strawberry dipped scent in December. Now, it just has a scent! HaHaHa So FYI Jill Stuart's scents don't last. This is a great everyday mascara for me because of the color. I love the softness and curvature of the brush.

Jill Stuart Strawberry Syrup Lip Gloss - Not Sweet
There was one BAD BERRY out the bunch! HaHaHa This lip gloss has the perfect name because it feels like HEAVY syrup on my lips. It's heavy, and has a tacky & sticky feeling to it. I didn't like it. It STILL smells like strawberries after all these months. The squeezable applicator is cool. However, it just FEELS artificial and not very moisturizing. So I give it a thumbs down.

All of these products (except the nail lacquer...it must be purchased separately) can be found in the Jill Stuart My Dear Strawberry Collection. The collection comes in a strawberry & lace makeup bag (shown above). Two strawberries unzip to house the collection. It's topped and trimmed with lace. I think they could've done a much better job with the quality of it, however I really like the quality of the collection overall.

Stuart is constantly coming out with collections, so check her website. I wanted to do this review to let you know my thoughts regarding her products. I think later on, I'll test her bath and body collection. I'll review her concealer for you Wednesday! Have A Great Week! Now I get to eat all of these strawberries :)

  1. Strawberry scented nail varnish?? Wow wow wow, I could think of nothing better. I hate the smell of nail varnish! Shame it disappears after a while though. That mascara you describe seems perfect. I've never been able to find a perfect mascara - I've just given up and don't use any. Shame none of the other products have the strawberry scent. I love strawberries! Rosemary x

  6. Such cute packaging! really impressed with the eye shadow, it's very pretty :) Shame that it doesn't all smell like strawberries, and that the scent doesn't last, that would be a great collection! :)

  7. Ohh too much sweetness in the first few photos! Thenail lacquer looks awesome on your nails. And how cool it dries fast! At first I thought the powder is a blush, but how beautifully it is packed! I haven't used dark bron mascara for ages! Should buy one, but I am a big fan of blue mascara! I'd skip the lip gloss, usually I don't use. Nice review thought! Too much sweetness, too much... :)

  8. Morning Kim! Lol, you made me started the day with a huge strawberries craving!:P Btw, I have no idea she makes also make up collections, what a shame they are sold only in Asia, I wanna grab one for sure! The one you picked looks beautiful, so fun it was a limited edition for Xmas since it makes me think only of spring, so ur choice to review now is perfect. Btw, despite the gloss which is bad, Id love to try all the products, especially the palette. You know Kim, Im not too much into pink shades too for eyes and use them on cheeks as well!:) The make up bag is utterly sweet, is so you!:) Have a great week dear, hugs! xo

  9. I've actually had the pleasure of attending Jill Stuart shows during fashion week, where she has given out her beauty products in a gift bag. I have to say--- I LOVED the mascara that I got. It was the Jill Stuart Extra Curl Mascara and it was really great.

Now that I live in Asia, I should really see if I can find it here!

    Thank you for the reminder!!

Don't you think? I usually buy them in Hong Kong or Japan. I might check out the other products now that I read your reviews. Btw, Happy Belated Mother's Day to your mommy! Did you guys celebrate? I only received a card. Haha. I had something to do yesterday. Anyway, my boys are always nice to me, so I shouldn't be complaining. Have a lovely week!
