Butter LONDON: Sweet or Not Product Review

Did everyone have a great weekend? I hope you did. The rain FINALLY stopped in New Orleans. We experienced some street flooding Friday, but I wasn't affected. So I truly appreciate your thoughts and kind words in my last post. Thank You! This week, all of my posts will have an Olympic or London theme to them. I thought it would be fun, since the 2012 London Olympics start Friday.

Let's kick off  this week with a SWEET or NOT Product Review for Butter London Nail Lacquer. Can you believe I've never tried Butter London? Well they had a 30% off promotion several weeks ago, so I decided this would be a great time to try them.

 Butter LONDON
Sweet - Bittersweet - Not Sweet

SWEET
This was an easy review for me.

3 Free Nail Lacquer and a Lesson in London Terminology
Butter London is free of 3 things: Formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). They believe in COLOR, not CARCINOGENS. I like that! The names they pick for their nail lacquer usually are in reference to something London-ish. HaHaHa So I added pictures on what each meant below. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me in my comments section. I'm sure some have several meanings (and would love for you to tell me about them).

It's Thick!
This polish is very thick, yet it applied with ease. I'm still amazed by this. I'm really shocked! How do you do it Butter London? I usually detest thick nail polish, because it never lays right, bubbles and smudges easily. You can easily get away with one coat. The only color I applied more than one coat with, was the Cheeky Chops (yellow). The drying time was just like regular nail polish.

Punchy Pops of Color
I couldn't get over the pigmentation of each color! As you can see in the pictures, they are truly vibrant and shiny. I also want to say, the colors were true to the samples (all the bottle pictures to the left of mine) on their website. There have been so many times I would order a color from a nail companies' website, only to find out the shade is not what I thought.

A Precision Brush
The brush Butter London uses for their nail lacquer is very small, which made application really easy. I find the smaller the brush, the more control you have when painting your nails.

Durability and Removal
My polish stayed on for 7 days before I saw any chips. Removal was easy. Just a couple of swipes of nail polish remover and I was done. Again, that usually doesn't happen with a THICK nail polish.
