Illamasqua Collide Product Review

There's a new bunny in town, making a name for themselves in the US cosmetic industry! Have you heard of cosmetic company Illamasqua? They're out of London and if you haven't already, you should definitely start becoming familiar with their name. Some in the States have touted Illamasqua as the "new" MAC. Remember when MAC started, they were very edgy and "out there". Well many feel MAC has mellowed through the years. Well Illamasqua cosmetics are for the BOLD and the ones who dare to be DRAMATIC. Illamasqua's mission is to provide high performance, professional makeup to anyone who wants to self express and accentuate their look beyond the norm. (source).

Illamsqua caught my eye with their new I'mperfection (I'm Perfection) Collection (specifically their nail lacquer, which looks like the speckled eggs stores sell during Easter) I'm not quite ready to jump on the speckled nail varnish route, so I decided to try a bright pink varnish named Collide.

Well, let me tell you! This is not a pink for the modest at heart. It's a pink that packs a punch! Collide is a NEON pink WITH CLASS! I really like it! The application of it was very easy. Long brush, but it was very easy to control. I used 2 coats to achieve the look below. I think this is the fastest drying nail lacquer I've ever used. The vibrant color is amazing! The only thing I didn't like was it's distinctive nail lacquer scent. Plus I didn't read about it being Environmentally friendly or at least 3 Free.

This nail lacquer costs $14 at Sephora and £13.50 ($17.26 USD) on Illamasqua's website. It was shocking to hear from my International readers (in my last nail polish post) how much you guys pay for nail polish! I don't think I would ever do mine. Crazy wild!

Oops! Sorry little bunny! I got a little yummy doing this post ;)

I love this!! It does have a punch to it and it looks lovely on you. The brush does a lil long but perfect for control which is always a plus.

Great review. Love how the bunny head is missing. Lol.

  7. I've been hearing so much about Illamasqua lately, it's on my list of things to investigate when I finally make my trip to the UK this spring. I have to say, I wasn't totally sold on Collide in the bottle, but on your nails the colour is fabulous - although not for the faint of heart ;) Thanks for another great review, Kim - and for making me hungry looking at all of these Easter treats, ha ha :)

  24. It's a really pretty color. I've seen the brand at Sephora, but it takes a lot for me to spend $13 on a bottle of polish. I love Essie and Lime Crime which are both well below that price point.

And as you know I LOVE speckled nails as you can tell by my last nail post haha :)

And your pictures are making me hungry once again...

  26. So pretty! I've been getting into coral-y pinks quite a bit lately and this is just plain pretty. Nailpolish really is insanely expensive! I get most of mine for cheaper on ebay when I can :)

  36. I am craving for those jelly beans. Yummy! Your nail polish is a pretty pink. That cosmetics company is a brand to watch out for.

  37. Such a bright neon pink, I like it! :) Shame it isn't big 3 free, if is they should publicise it more. I usually get around things like that where I'm unsure by using a good base coat that I know is safe from the nasties, and hope that helps. Probably has no scientific basis, but makes me feel better, haha.
