Eye Exam

I had my annual eye exam a couple of weeks ago. I wore a simple black dress (same dress, different color), tights and ballet flats (sim). When I stepped outside, I discovered my tights to be navy blue (not black, as I thought). I had to laugh, because I was headed to get my eyes checked! Do you get black & blue mixed up? St. Charles Vision (New Orleans) is where I get my eyes examined! I've had the same optometrist since 1st grade (Dr. Glaser)! He is the absolute best! He started off with a small shop and did everything himself. Now he has six locations and people working for him. I love going here, because everyone is so professional and everything is so chic. I bought my Chanel sunglasses from here and he has a great selection of other designer wear glasses. Just wanted to share a little glimpse of my daily life.

The outside is just as chic! I love the eyeglass bike rack! HaHaHa

  2. I don't think black and navy "don't match" I just don't wear them together regularly that being said when they are paired together correctly they look awesome!

  3. You are to funny Kim love that you wore navy instead of black and share with us while heading to a eye doctor great sense of humor. Is good to get your eyes check out plenty of people have the assumption that if they could see no need you just never know if you have an issue unless you visit. Your eye doctor office is so chic.Hope everything went well.

  8. That bike rack is the coolest thing! The office looks lovely! it's funny because I just bought a Groupon for an eye exam and glasses today. I have to choose a pair when I'm back in NYC in a few months. My baby loves to grab mine and it's bound to snap soon!

  11. That place looks pretty! I always get excited when offices look nice because it makes you feel better about having to go there. I hate making appointments for my eyes or any doctors for that matter, so and pretty place makes me happy lol!!

  12. You're good Kim. Black and navy do go together :) It's so cute that you've had the same optometrist since 1st grade. His office does look quite stylish. Thanks for taking us along. You just reminded me that I need to make an appt. to see Dr. Copper, my eye doctor.

  15. Well, luckily for you black goes with blue :)
Whenever I am not sure about the colour of an item
I reach for something in black that I KNOW is black and place it right next to the one in question -

  16. Isn't that ironic? Your eyes were definitely playing tricks on you! Very funny post. And nice location too. I get my done at Costco. Haha!

  17. What a nice place for an eye exam. I've been to different places each time since I haven't been able to find someone I like since we moved. So wonderful that you've been going to the same person since you're little.
BTW, that happens to me all the time, just the other day, I thought I was wearing a black top, and then my kids told me that it was blue, sure enough, it was. lol!

  20. You made me smile when you mentioned the tights. I think we have all confused dark navy and black tights but so funny on your eye test day! It's a lovely store and the bike rack is wonderful. How original! I'm always impressed with details like that!

  22. This place looks beautiful! I have gone to the same eye doctor's office since I was in fifth grade so I know that feeling of having great service and comfort. Shopping for frames is always fun!

  26. Personally, I think that black looks great with blue/navy and that place, where you had eye exam looks -as you said-chic :)

  27. Lol I almost wore dark blue once thinking it was black, but I caught myself before I put it on! I love your optometrist's office. It looks more like a chic store than a place to get an eye exam.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Haha- only on the day of the eye exam could that happen! I generally don't get them mixed up just because I don't think own anything in dark enough blue. But I think the blue looks really great with the black.

  29. Accidentally mistaking your navy blue tights for black is so ironic considering where you were going, you absolutely have made my day haha! I once did a similar thing, apart from I was seventeen and insecure at the time and so ran back home to change!! ;) Anyway, I hope your week has started well!

  30. haha how ironic with wearing the "wrong" color tights and getting your eye exam.
I definitely have to get my eye exam regularly. Finding the "right" dr is so important.

  32. Hey Kim, what a great timing to read about this post. First of all, I checked out your dress, super cute and I'd have gotten navy and black mixed up too. Me too, I've been going to my optometrist since high school, so that's a good 20 plus years.

Anyway, I decided to look for a job. I haven't work in a while, and after researching the health care field (I'm interested in helping others), I've decided to apply for a optometric assistant position (entry level), hopefully I will find a job soon, but I'm in no hurry. Will keep you posted. Cute bike rack and I hope you will my giveaway. :)

  33. haha! If it's any consolation, the navy tights worked well with the black dress and shoes! :) It's a neutral anyway! :) What a day to get those things mixed up though, hehe!

It's so cool you have been going to the same place for so long! :) We are always changing up where we go for our yearly eye tests so I don't think I've seen the same doctor twice! Should try get more consistent I think.
