Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review & Swatches

Too Faced can come up with some shit! I don't know whose worse!?! Them or Benefit! BOTH are THE MASTERS when it comes to marketing. Sometimes it works for them! Sometimes it doesn't (like the NEW Too Faced Selfie powders...I'm hearing & seeing BAD REVIEWS already)! I must say, I am pleasantly surprised at Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara! The name turned me off when it initially came out. So much so, that I refused to buy it. Not that I'm a goody-goody (at all), but why would you want to make such a preposterous claim? Sex can be BAD. Sex can be ALRIGHT. Sex can be GOOD. Sex can be GREAT. What do I think of this mascara? It's really good! So Yes Too Faced...To answer your question (on the box)...It was good for me! It gave my lashes volume. It lengthened them. Hardly any fall out. There was no clumping of lashes together. I really like it. This was the sample size, and the brush looked kind of jacked. HaHaHa Not very hourglass as portrayed on the package. I was getting real persnickety and saying to myself, "you want me to put that on my lashes?" HaHaHa But the results were nice. Ok, today it was "sex"! Tomorrow I'll get "perverted"! I'm talking Urban Decay you guys! HaHaHa

  3. Hahaha, love this review Kim! You really made me laugh. I still need to try this mascara. Some people love it and some people hate it. I really don't think it would be better than sex though. But what do I know! ;-)

  4. Lol, maybe all these brands are getting inspired by 50 Shades of Grey, but I know what you mean how the name is a bit of a turn off hehe. I think the packaging is really cute though and the results look great, but I've actually been using the Benefit 'They're Real' like in your other post for the past year and it's been great!

  5. Haha, some cosmetics companies really are great at marketing and suck us in! The mascara name is ridiculous but it's good to hear that it works!

  6. I'm with you, Kim - the name of this mascara really turned me off, and I'm no prude. But I have to say, I do like the formula. It will never be my go-to, but it's one I'll finish the whole tube of!

  7. Yes. They do come up with some controversial names sometimes. It is a good name for those who've had "GREAT" sex. It makes them curious. Haha! I am glad it worked for you, Kim! Excellent review as always!

  12. I;m glad I'm not the only one who was put off by the name of this one Kim. Good to know that it's pretty food despite the dodgy name.

  14. I'm with you, Kim...didn't buy this because it just turns me off. But darn you woman, your review and the result of this mascara on your lashes is gorgeous and now I want to add it into my collection. Haha! You're such an enabler! :-P

  15. Lol, I don't think I could buy that mascara with a name like that either! Good to hear that it doesn't clump, though. I don't wear mascara often (actually, I think I've only worn it twice ever!), but the clumping was an issue those two times that I did wear it.

  16. Funny name for the product! Sometimes makeup can be better so I guess it makes sense. LOL :)

  17. Haha...the name sucks really, it wouldn't make me pick it up at all, I was more interested in the name Soap & Glory did - sexy Motherpucker for their lip gloss. The results look ok as well, I think you've reviewed ones with better results really. The names seem shock value to me more than results. Love the review :)

  18. hah...yea, the name turned me off at first too but if it gives you results like that then what's in a name right? =D

  22. The name is interesting that's for sure; a good marketing tactic, indeed. However, if it works, it's worth it!

  23. Wonderfully honest review, and I can relate to the name, such bold names like that with a huge amount of weight/claim in their arms can be massively off-putting.. but they sure do work with regard to marketing and causing a buzz! Anyway, I'm glad you're happy with it!

  24. Haha you are funny and too cute! You know what, it is SO weird, but I tried this in the full tube a while ago and hated it. But now I got a sample tube and love it??? Maybe the brush is different and better?

  25. The name of this mascara turned me off too and that is exactly why I have yet to try it. Maybe I should give it a try anyway.

  27. More pretty eyes! :) I've heard good things about Two Faced products. They are the one with the chocolate bar eye shadow palette you reviewed (and, I'm dying to try!). :) T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  29. Despite the weird name, it does give good results! :)

I guess they have to come up with funny or weird names to help make their products stand out, so people will give them a go and find (like in this case) that they are pretty good :)

  31. OMG, Kim you're too funny!! I admit I love to give my products cute names as well like those brands but I don't think I've ever claimed that any of them could be better than sex! Heehee..

Looks good though and the packaging is chic. :)

Good to her it was good.

  33. Everyone seems to rave about this mascara and I want to try it but I am afraid of spending so much on something that won't work for me; till now no mascaras works for my short stubby lashes except for the Maybelline falsies line. Hopefully I get to try a sample to try!

  34. i'm not totally down with these names especially since my daughter is starting to wear makeup...mascara especially!

but i have heard this one is good.
