Make Up For Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream Review And Swatches

Have you tried anything from Makeup Forever? I don't seem to be having much luck with their products LOL I tried their popular Ultra HD Foundation (did not review it here). On my dry skin, it was powdery, drying, clung to every imperfection and made me look ashy (dead). Between the formula and it being so cool toned, I think its why it didn't work for me. Well the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream ($34) isn't working for me either. From my hand swatches below, you can see a little goes a very long way. The consistency is very thick, heavy and feels like clay! This formula didn't work well with my dry skin. It did an ok job covering imperfections, but felt much heavier than Tarte's Shape Tape (in my opinion Shape Tape gave me better coverage and so did Too Faced Born This Way Concealer). From FAR AWAY, this made my skin look MONET, but up close it was a big ol' mess (Clueless Movie Quote Hee Hee). This concealer dragged across the skin, was powdery and looked mask-y. I tried it on my mom who has Combination skin and it looked dreadful on her. LOL So maybe this would work better for oily skin types. It does say on the packaging to work in small areas with small dabs. Skin should be MOISTURIZED. Apply loose powder. Remove residue with a makeup brush. Repeat if needed. I don't have time for all of that! LOL In conclusion, I don't think this is great for all over your face. Anybody try this? Only Smashbox primer water & photofinish primer and Make Up For Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Concealer (10 - Golden Beige) on my face below. No Foundation.

  1. I don't think I've seen a thick consistency like this one before but it does cover amazingly. Too bad it was not suitable for you, it's horrible when a product feels dry and not comfortable on the skin. Have a lovely day Kim xx

  2. I love thick formulas as I feel they last better, but this might even be too much for me. And they sure suggest a lot of things to do before you are done, wow.

  3. I don't have a whole lot of luck with them either to be honest! This looks like it would be good for tattoo cover up perhaps, but certainly too heavy for your lovely complexion. I can't stand anything which looks mask like and is uncomfortable to wear. Thanks for an honest review! X

  5. I've had good luck with Make-Up Forever products but ONLY when my make-up has been done by a Make-Up Forever artist. I always love how I look when I walk away from their counter, but when I get the products home, my results aren't the same - I think this is partly because their make-up is really designed for the stage and films, so working with it is quite a bit different. But maybe that's just me.

  6. It does a good job concealing. Too bad it is not a great product.

  7. I have had trouble with their products too. I live by amazing cosmetics under eye concealer, does wonders, although now that I am aging, I need to start looking for ones that don't accentuate my wrinkles, lol!

  8. Hm...I've always wanted to try this. But I'm not too sure anymore. LOL! I do have oily skin, but my undereye area isn't oily.
Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts, Kim!

  9. It actually does show that coverage is good however part of the experience and usage is how it feels. Thick and dry is not an option.

  10. I haven't tried this one yet but I do enjoy their HD foundation on my combo skin! Lately though I seem to gravitate toward my naked concealer.

  11. I haven't tried many Makeup Forever products but I would like to explore them more. My favourite concealer is Shape Tape and B H Cosmetics Studio Pro concealer,

  12. I haven't tried much from Makeup forever other than a few shadows and their mat velvet+ foundation! I liked both, but never felt compelled to try much else from the brand. That's a shame this concealer didn't work out, Kim! I'll definitely stay away from it!

  14. Well now I know to stay away from this concealer. My skin is also dry like yours Kim so I just know it wouldn't work for me either and boy that's sure alot of work to get it on your face.

  16. My skin is dry enough and I hate when anything I put on my face makes it feel even drier so I don't think I would like this at all. Too bad too because normally I love their products.

  17. Everyone and their mum seems to love MUFE HD foundation but my dry skin freaking hates it with a bloody passion! LOL! I love MUFE as you already know but hell to the NO for that foundation and will be giving this a miss too.

  18. So, I used this concealer on my wedding day to cover some marks that a break out had left on my face. It worked well, didn't crease and I was able to wear a light weight base relying on this to cover up any acne. Worked so well. xx

  21. This definitely sounds a bit too heavy for me, I find that anything too thick just clings to my dry skin and makes me look 10 years older!

  23. It does conceal well, but that's certainly about all it has going for it! What a shame it didn't work for you or your mum - definitely one you have to try out in store first!

Hope you are having a wonderful week :)

  24. I have never used Makeup Forever products. The concealer does look very thick. I don't think it has a great formula if both you and your mom cannot wear it. I will pass on this one.

  25. Wow, this Make Up Forever camouflage reLly works. It's amazing.

  26. I can not stand the thick textures in the bases, having the oily skin make me very heavy to endure throughout the day, I prefer those that melt quickly in the skin leaving a satin effect.

  28. Haven't tried this one before, but with the foundation I always mixed a bit of moisturizer in it to make it look a bit more natural and of course making sure i had a good primer to start with so that it wouldn't cling on to my dry patches. Hope this helped for you next time! x Sam

  29. The only thing I've tried form Make up For Ever is they aqua lip liner which I find amazing, it's pigmented and long lasting but can be drying and be flaky when you have dry lips. Apart from that I find that their complexion range ( foundation and concealer ) very rich and maybe a bit too cakey for my liking.

  30. Pity this isn't ideal for all over the face - I also definitely prefer concealers that can be applied everywhere and anywhere! Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far Kim :)
