Pixi Beauty Multibalm in Baby Petal, Nourishing Lip Polish, Quick Fix Powder Review and Swatches

Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I received some Summer Makeup Essential products from Pixi Beauty to review. I've already reviewed their Makeup Fixing Mist, so let me share my thoughts on these products.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Pixi Beauty MULTIBALM in Baby Petal ($12) - Sweet

Pixi's Multibalm can be used on both lips and cheeks. This multibalm comes in 5 shades: Baby Petal, Sheer Sculp, Soft Strawberry, Watermelon Veil and Wild Rose. I received Baby Petal and love it. It's a very soft and natural flush, that gives a great wash of color on the cheeks. It's perfect for everyday. I didn't care for this on my lips. The color made my lips look ashy. I think more people will get better use out of it on their cheeks. Since it didn't work on my lips, I paired it with their Pixi by Petra Gel Tint and Silk Gloss in Berry Tint & Sweet Gloss. It worked out perfectly and they look great together. All in all, their multibalm is lightweight and perfect for Summer. I extended the tube (it twists up) to it's fullest (bottom middle picture) to show you how much product you receive.

Pixi Beauty NOURISHING LIP POLISH with Apricot and Grapefruit Oils ($12) - Not Sweet

Pixi's nourishing lip polish has me a little confused. The exfoliating applicator has little ridges to exfoliate your lips and within the tube is a thick liquid gel. The directions say 1. Buff gently onto lips with applicator 2. Leave on for a healing soothing treatment. Well, when I EXFOLIATE my lips (usually with a lip scrub), I exfoliate and then WASH THE PRODUCT AWAY. This product is more of a lip moisturizer! This stuff sticks to the lips and you don't wash it away! You really need to remove it with a face cloth, because if you remove it by hand that stickiness will get on your hands. Think petroleum jelly! The little ridges will exfoliate your lips, but you're suppose to leave the product on >.< Who wants to leave exfoliated dead skin on their lips? As far as moisturizing? I didn't see or feel a difference. Petroleum jelly in my opinion would do a better job or your favorite lip balm.

Pixi Beauty QUICK FIX POWDER ($20) - Bittersweet

Translucent powder. I've had both good and bad results with translucent powder (more leaning towards bad). This powder is for quick touch-ups! It promises to set makeup, the color is suppose to be suitable for all and its suppose to blur imperfections. Let's talk about those first! This powder is not suitable for medium to darker skin-tones. I show you a before & after picture of my hand below and it totally changed the color of my hand (white & ashy). So this is for lighter skin tones. Because of that it highlighted my imperfections. Will it set makeup? Yes, but this is for lighter skin tones. I would love to see this powder made in at least a brown or dark brown or since it's translucent more finely milled. I use Laura Mercier translucent powder and I don't have a problem with it. Let me discuss the packaging. There are 3 parts to it: a mirror, a sponge, and compartment that holds the powder. You can take these apart! Because you will have to clean the sponge! The sponge pops out as shown below. I think it's a REALLY cute concept! But it just doesn't work for all skin tones.

  1. I was not a huge fan of the Multibalm at all. It barely showed up on my cheeks and did vanish within three hours.

  6. That's too bad about the powder, Kim, coz I do like the packaging. Hope it comes out with more shades. And I'm liking that Baby Petal shade. Kinda reminds me of that Stila Convertible Colour (I think it's Petunia).

  7. I haven't tried many Pixi products. Our selection in Canada is limited. I did want to try their Rose Facial Oil and Eye Elixir. I did like the Rose mist when I tried it. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com

  8. It's a shame the powder doesn't work for all skin tones as that does look like cute packaging! It's good you can use the multi balm as a blush too even if it's not nice on your lips :)

Hope you have had a great weekend! :)

  10. I feel like there are a lot of hits with Pixi Beauty, but also a lot of misses. The exfoliating lip product sounds bizarre, and the idea that a white powder could be suitable for all skin tones just makes me shake my head. I do love a good cream or gel cheek product, though, and the shade you received is lovely.

  13. Great review. That is too bad about the multibalm not working well for the lips. Dual purpose items are so great for travelling.

  14. The multibalm is such a pretty shade!! That's good to know it works well for the cheeks. The lip polish sounds strange to me lol!! And that's too bad about the powder. They really should make more shades for it. i do like the concept for the packaging though! Thanks for sharing, Kim!

  16. Kim, I was kind of excited about that Lip Polish until I read through your review. So weird that you're supposed to leave the product on. What is the point then?!! Now I know to stay away. Thanks girl!

  17. Hi, Kim! M'agrada the effect of Pixie Multi Bam has good pigmentation and looks very natural, hurt that the translucent powders do not have the same effect, thanks for sharing your experience!

  21. I am always surprised at how many products they have, I can't keep up. I love their packaging and a few of their products sound great, I love their Glow Tonic and Mud Cleanser but as for their makeup apart from their eyeshadow palettes not much has tempted me. Thank you for sharing, always worth it to consider xxx

  22. You know I love some Pixi products but that lip exfoliator sounds gross! Like you said, who wants to leave the dead skin that u exfoliated on your lips afterwards. YUCK! And the power packaging is a cool concept- too bad it didn't work for your skin tone. Xo

  23. Oh wow, I feel that is just too little product on the multi balm.. it's like half of what I'd expect.
