Disney Cruise Line: Disney Wonder Is Coming To New Orleans

PR Event: Hey Everybody! Disney PR invited me to a reception to celebrate Disney Cruise Line coming to New Orleans. The ship is called Disney Wonder. It's one of four Disney ships that offers a variety of cruises for adults, families and their children. The port for these cruises will be right here in New Orleans. Their destination will be to the Bahamas (7 Night Bahamian Cruise), Caribbean (4, 6, 7 Night Western Caribbean Cruise) and Panama (14 Night Panama Canal Voyage). I was excited to hear this, because this will be such a huge boost for the New Orleans tourism industry. It will definitely drive visitors to the city and encourage them to explore New Orleans before and after their cruise vacation. I had a wonderful time at the reception. Thank You Disney for sending some pixie dust my way :) Everything about a Disney experience is truly magical. Be sure to check out my video. Let me tell you a little more...

The Disney Wonder is a 2700 passenger cruise ship. They will offer original theatrical productions, adventurous deck parties, fireworks at sea, poolside movies on a giant screen, first-run films, exclusive character interactions and more.

Broadway-style musicals are presented nightly at the magnificent Walt Disney Theatre, a 977-seat performing-arts palace on Disney Wonder. "Frozen, A Musical Spectacular," (Disney Wonder) based on the iconic animated feature "Frozen," follows the captivating adventure of royal sisters Anna and Elsa as they embark on a journey to discover the meaning of sisterhood, inner strength and true love.

While children are enjoying the most extensive youth activity areas at sea, parents can enjoy the ship "worry-free," thanks to the complimentary wave phones that allow crew or kids to contact parents anytime and anywhere on the ship. Plus, all Disney Cruise Line youth activities are supervised by specially trained counselors and feature some of the longest operating hours at sea. This provides greater flexibility for parents and even more fun for kids.

It's A Small World Nursery delights the youngest cruisers with a whimsical world inspired by the style of the legendary theme park attraction.

Marvel Super Hero Academy. The Marvel universe comes to life in Marvel Super Hero Academy. Here, young guests can train to develop the brave and adventurous heroes inside themselves. It's an exciting addition to Disney's Oceaneer Club, the engaging and interactive space just for children. On the Disney Wonder, Marvel Super Hero Academy offers extraordinary adventures in which each young guest plays an integral role. With the mentorship of some of Marvel's greatest Super Heroes, young trainees learn the value of teamwork, bravery and problem solving through hands-on play and programs.

Frozen Adventures is where fun takes the form of imaginative play and hands-on activities. On the digital screen, Olaf leads summery games with a wintery twist and a sing-a-long of "In Summer." In another festive activity, young guests prepare for a coronation and receive a truly royal and in-person visit by Anna and Elsa.

Club Disney Junior features favorite Disney Junior characters, storytelling and games.

Andy's Room is where kids feel toy-sized in the multi-level play space themed to the Disney-Pixar "Toy Story" trilogy. As a special treat, Woody appears in person to join youngsters in a hoedown and Jessie stops by to join in a scavenger hunt.

Adults. Disney Cruise Line offers adults upscale and sophisticated experiences designed just for them. From elegant dinners to backstage tours. Relaxation and rejuvenation take center stage at Senses Spa & Salon.

 Also on Disney Wonder:
  • After Hours adult district featuring Crown & Fin Pub, Azure night club and a shiny new model of the popular Cadillac Lounge
  • A reimagined and relaxing Senses Spa & Salon and a new Chill Teen Spa
  • Animator’s Palate main dining restaurant updated to introduce the popular “Drawn to

The reception celebration for the Disney Wonder was held at Generations Hall. Generations Hall is located in Downtown New Orleans. It's absolutely stunning! I fell in love with its various murals, chic decor & stunning chandeliers. Big kudos to their valet service as well. They were so nice. I didn't have to find the Disney people, because they found me. HaHaHa They approached me as I stepped out the car and I immediately felt their warmth &  kindness as they guided me into the event. Mickey & Minnie were right there ready to take photos. Minnie kept motioning her hand by her neck. I was like "Oh! You like my necklace!" HaHaHa She giggled with her hand and motioned yes. Her little pleats & blazer were so perfect. Mickey made me giggle. We took a great picture and I snapped them below doing a little dance. I met Lisa who invited me to this private event. She made a dream of mine come true. Watch my video to see the food, decor and speakers at the event (Disney Parks & Resorts, Port of New Orleans). Kudos to the waiters, waitresses & bartenders of Generations Hall. They were so nice! Once I got all of the pictures & video I wanted for this event, I settled in had a glass of white wine, munched on some mickey mouse shaped beignets, shrimp etouffee, gumbo, red beans & rice, alligator & and crawfish andouille sausage. I also connected with blogger Ali of Now New Orleans. She is so sweet. The night ended with me meeting & twirling with Princess Tiana (Princess and The Frog). So sweet. So nice. So graceful. As you can tell, I had an AMAZING time. Everything about this Disney experience made me SMILE.

[Not on the Disney Wonder] Isn't this beautiful! It's a mural of a New Orleans Streetcar. This room also featured a sitting area with a chandelier above. When you watch my video, you'll see another room showcasing St. Louis Cathedral and the French Quarter. Generations Hall really has some lovely rooms for an event. Perfect for all type of occasions.

Disney gave everyone in attendance a beautiful box of chocolates (yes, that is a bar of white chocolate in the center ... but this box also contained PRALINE & PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE), a USB designed exactly like the Disney Wonder (it contained all the media for this event, that I'm sharing with you now) and a Disney Cruise Line lanyard.

Tiana's Place Restaurant. Exclusive to the Disney Wonder, Tiana's Place restaurant transports guests to an era of southern charm, spirited jazz and street party celebrations, With a menu influenced by southern-style cuisine, Tiana's Place provides food for the body and soul, showing that dreams and dishes come true. Guests of Tiana's Place, the restaurant inspired by Princess Tiana in the Disney animated feature, "The Princess and the Frog", are treated to a celebration of New Orleans dining and entertainment. Live music is performed on the main stage, with rhythmic, toe-tapping notes of jazz, swing and blues setting the tone for the French Quarter supper club atmosphere. Guests savor Tiana's tantalizing recipes that draw inspiration from the flavors and ingredients of the Louisiana bayou. Tiana's personal touch is evident in the menu, the entertainment and throughout every detail in the restaurant. From Tiana's family photos to water lily-shaped candleholders to her framed culinary awards - all help tell the timeless tale of Tiana's journey from waitress to frog to princess to proud restaurant owner.

Cheers, to Crown & Fin English Pub. The adult district includes a brand-new-pub that invites guests to take a jaunt to an authentic English tavern. Crown & Fin Pub dons dark woods, plush leather furniture and brass accents that are reminiscent of a friendly neighborhood pub. A selection of British and specialty beers create the perfect pub atmosphere, where adult guests can sip a pint or cocktail, or sample a brew made especially for the pub. Observant guests may discover this is no ordinary pub. Subtle nods to classic Disney films set in London can be found in artwork, props and other bits 'n bobs throughout the space. Brilliant stories of all sorts will be celebrated at the pub, whether those tales be true, tall or flat-out mad.
