Si Tapas Spanish Cuisine Restaurant Review | Dallas, Texas

Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I vacationed for a week in Dallas (Uptown), Texas this Summer. I stayed at Hotel ZaZa Dallas (it's a boutique hotel) located in (the uptown area of) Dallas, Texas. During that time, I patronized several restaurants. I would like to review them for you, just in case you're thinking about visiting Dallas, Texas. There are a LOT of restaurants to choose from in the uptown area of Dallas. It's a lovely area. No matter where you stay in the world, I would encourage you to use Google Maps (Google Map your hotel), then click on restaurants to see what restaurants are nearby your hotel (vicinity). Use apps/websites like Yelp, OpenTable, Resy and Tripadvisor to review each restaurant. Using all of these free wonderful tools really helped me :)

I chose Si Tapas (this restaurant serves classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine), not only for its great reviews but because of the owner's (chef) touching story. Executive Chef Jose Luis Lopez credits his grandmother for teaching him to cook when he was just eight years old, "She always told me, 'you need to learn; this might help you one day.'" I thought that was so beautiful. So touching. I'm trying to patronize smaller businesses. They have wonderful stories and talent. When you visit Si Tapas, you feel as if you're visiting someone's home. They have a welcoming staff and our waitress was very accommodating. We ordered iced tea and you guys it was a delicious Pomegranate Green Tea by The Republic of Tea (you can order it online). It was refreshing and delicious. For a small restaurant, their menu is extensive (many pages long). For an appetizer we had the Tablos de quesos con jamon Iberico y lomo Iberico (Your choices of cheeses w/Iberico ham and Iberico cured pork loin). The assortment was delectable. The bread that came out with it, was served hot, tasty and delicious. They even brought us more. We had a second appetizer! I read so many great reviews regarding their garlic shrimp, that I had to try the dish. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! We then shared their Paella de Mariscos (Seafood Paella that serves two). Trust me, it is enough for two people! This was my first time trying paella (so I can't compare it to others), but it was tasty and delicious. They also serve a Paella Mixta (classic mixed seafood, chicken, and pork Paella) and a Paella Valenciana (classic vegetarian Paella). Their menu offers many options, from steak, to chicken, quail, lambchops and so much more. I was so full, I didn't get dessert. But they have many dessert options. Its a lovely restaurant. Very intimate. Delicious Food. Laid back setting. Highly recommended.
