Shani Darden | Hydration Peptide Cream Review

Not Sponsored: My longtime readers know I have very dry skin, so I'm always on the lookout for excellent moisturizers. My go-to moisturizer is Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base (Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Sephora, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue).  I just really love it and it keeps my dry skin in check. Before Sephora's Rouge/VIB/Insider Sale, I noticed a new skincare brand they were carrying called ... Shani Darden. I looked at all the products under the brand and noticed the Hydration Peptide Cream. It had FIVE (5) STARS! I said WOW, that is impressive! So, I purchased it during the sale to give it a try.

The Shani Darden Hydration Peptide Cream (Sephora, Net-A-Porter) is described as, "a rich, oil-free moisturizer that provides up to 72 hours of intense hydration and powerful peptides that visibly plump and firm without causing congestion." It's for normal and dry skin types. Under the highlighted ingredients: Peptides supports healthy collagen and elasticity while visibly firming and plumping. Hydrosella provides up to 72 hours of hydration. Squalane replenishes skin, locks in moisture and protects the skin barrier.

So, I put this moisturizer to the test. I put a dot of it on my forehead, both cheeks, chin and neck. It feels really good when you apply it to your skin. You can feel it going into your skin. It's rich, but not heavy. It doesn't weigh your skin down. It's not heavy, greasy or oily. My skin felt nourished, looked more radiant after I applied it, plumper and more firm. Put it on your lips as well! Overall, I was impressed. My Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base also makes me feel this way, but this cream made my skin feel firmer and my makeup applied better. I attended the Seal concert the other night, used this as a moisturizer/primer and my makeup laid beautifully on my skin. I also had a nice glow. So you guys, I think I'll be incorporating this product into my DAY routine. I'm still keeping my Bobbi Brown for use at night. If you have oily skin, this will be too much for you, but she has a Weightless Oil Free Moisturizer for Oily Skin Types (Sephora, Net-A-Porter). So what about the 72 hours of hydration? Your skin definitely feels nourished after 48 hours, EVEN after washing your face with your favorite cleanser. After 72 hours, your skin feels good and not depleted. But not like after 48 hours.

I always love learning about a brand. Surprisingly before trying this product, I never looked up Shani Darden. I looked at her website, right before writing this review. She is an Esthetician from Los Angeles, California. Her personal story is truly remarkable. I'll include the video below. All of her products are vegan, cruelty free, paraben free and so much more. So I will definitely be trying some of her other products.
