How To Keep A Healthy Body And Mind

A modern woman’s life can be so busy that she often has little to no time to focus on her physical and/or mental health. A healthy mind is often linked to a healthy body, and vice versa. For example, if you have any aches or pains, it’s important to soothe your mind as well as your body, as things such as stress can affect how you feel physically. Here are some top tips to keep a healthy body and mind.

Fix Your Sleep Cycle

If you need more energy in the day, then a regular sleep cycle will do wonders for you. Getting up and going to bed at a regular time each night will enable you to have more time during the day to do what you have planned and it will help you approach stressful situations calmly. Staying in bed for too long can negatively affect both your physical and mental health, making you feel even more tired and lazy.

Try Yoga

Yoga is a perfect combination of exercise for the mind, body, and soul. As a form of exercise that focuses mainly on meditation, yoga helps you to de-stress, loosen your body and keep you fit, and help you to forget about your problems for a while. You can easily buy cheap workout clothes and yoga mats either online or in shops, and whilst yoga is tiring, it’s not too high energy. If you can’t find a local class that suits your schedule or you don’t want to pay weekly, you can get yoga workout DVDs to follow in the comfort of your own home. This is also a good option if you’re self-conscious and will be uncomfortable in a class full of strangers.

Have a Massage

A heaven and earth massage is the perfect way to treat your body and mind for pain or stress. Your aches and pains will be relieved and your mind will be relaxed. Often, your aches and pains are the cause of mental distress, meaning that treating the muscles is treating the mind. This is also a way to pamper yourself. If you have the money you could turn the massage into a whole spa day and have a full day of relaxation.

Try Green Tea

Green tea is packed with antioxidants and nutrients, proven to have endless health benefits, including the prevention of some cancers, most commonly breast and prostate cancer. It’s not only good for your physical health; green tea has been proven to increase your brain function, burn fat, and reduce stress. Decaffeinated green tea is the way to go if you want a relaxing cup of tea as the caffeine will hinder your sleep cycle if you drink it regular tea before bed. There is also the option to do a green tea cleanse to refresh your entire body.

Not everything works the same way for everyone, but try out all these different tips and you’ll see which option is the best for you.

I know Gwyneth Paltrow gets a lot of flack for GOOP and all, but she really does promote healthy living which is why I love her:)
