Chanel Rouge Noir Review and Swatches

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

I received a lot of compliments from you guys on my makeup at the IT Cosmetics Happy Hour Event. The makeup is Chanel Rouge Noir Christmas 2015 Collection! I went to link my review of the collection and discovered I never posted a review on A Very Sweet Blog. HaHaHa I was consumed at the time with home remodeling. Well I still have the pictures I took of the collection. Found them in my email and thought I would show you everything. When I Googled this collection, it seems to come out periodically (give anything time fashion or beauty and it comes around again). This collection came out in 2010, 2013, 2015. So it's just a matter of time before it comes out again. Purple is a HOT color for Fall. You're seeing a lot of lighter purples right now. As I mentioned in the IT Cosmetics post, this is nighttime makeup! It's real sexy & sultry. I've only worn this collection twice! Once, when I went to the Chaka Khan concert at Beau Rivage and to the IT Cosmetics event at The Burgundy Bar. It shows up great in dark places. You can still find this collection on the "black makeup market"...ahem eBay! LOL But it will come around again. I've only purchased nail lacquer from Chanel here, and this collection. In the future, I would love to buy more. Do you have any Chanel in your makeup collection?

The Chanel Rouge Noir Collection (2015) was Supersweet

Chanel Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil 17 Rouge Noir

Have you heard of Khol eyeliners and pencils? I was watching a Sephora tutorial (you should watch it...great tips) and the makeup artist mentioned it's great for the waterline because it stays in place and doesn't slip. Well, this eye pencil by Chanel already is a Khol pencil. It didn't irritate my eyes. The color pigmentation is super awesome. You can draw a thin, thick or even smudge a line. It worked great in my waterline. You can purchase Khol eye pencils and use them with your favorite eyeliners.

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow 857 Rouge Noir

I'm not use to pot creme eyeshadows, but after using this I could definitely get use to them! This eyeshadow is so multidimensional! It's purple, brown, a hint of red and a hint of sparkle. I used a small brush and applied it to my lid, underneath my lower lashes, and smudged it out above my brow bone. Seriously, this is mistake proof! LOL It gives your eyes a great smoky look without the fuss.  It comes with a brush.

Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Mascara 27 Rouge Noir

When I first pulled the wand out of the tube, I said this mascara is dry as hell! What is it going to do? WELL, this made me see the difference between WET & DRY MASCARA! You may here beauty enthusiasts say, they had to let their mascara dry out (leave the bottle open) because its too wet. I've had problems with wetter formulas of mascaras (clumping, too much on my lashes). I prefer drier mascaras like this one. It lengthened my lashes and gave me really nice volume. Plus you could see the color payoff.

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour 109 Rouge Noir

This is a great vampy color! Again, purple...brown...and red! It's not patchy, but gives a smeared effect. The thing with this lipstick, is you definitely want to use a lip liner to keep everything in place. To open, you push the bottom of the lipstick tube and then the tube comes out ;)

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in 18 Vamp and 669 Chataigne

Vamp was part of this collection. I can't remember if Chataigne was or not. I purchased both, because I was undecided which would work best. Both do! However Vamp is lighter and has a little more red in it. Chataigne has more brown in it. Both are lovely! These are fall colors but let me tell you, during the summer if you wear white, they are HOT!

The Look

Here I am wearing the collection (except for my nails). I included the Chanel promo pic below.

This is one of the first looks I recreated for my Inspired by series. It is very awkward, but the look is amazing!
To be honest, with the exception of one nail lacquer I don´t have any Chanel in my collection, I rarely buy high end makeup.

I love that eyeshadow Kim! :) it sounds like just the kind of thing I need! I'm currently using a Charlotte Tilbury one I can just apply with my finger, quick and easy and foolproof like this one. Tis' a beautiful colour on you too!

I've always wanted to try more CHanel polishes! I got a cute one from my bestie but it's pastel so takes a few coats and I rarely have time to apply that many now haha! One of the darker colours would be good :)

Hope you are having a wonderful start to your week!

Like I said on that post, you looked sooooo fab wearing this collection, Kim. Thanks for doing a more detailed review.
I used to buy a lot of Chanel makeup before I had kids, but alas, not anymore. I have to change that soon!:D That 109 lipstick is just too awesome for words.

This collection suits you so well, Kim! I have the Rouge Noir polish myself, but find the other items in the collection a bit dark compared to what I would normally choose for make-up, even for a night out. But I'm so impressed with how great you make them look :)

I didn't realize you'd look great in these colors, but you totally rock them! I like the sophisticated, slightly edgier look!

Such a gorgeously vampy collection, wow! You're so right - everything in beauty and fashion tends to come back around again (which makes letting go of things even harder, right?! haha).

While I've tried several products from Chanel, one thing I've never tried on my own (i've had them applied my a make up artist) are eye shadows. My fave here is the VAMP nail varnish and you're looking so good in those pics.

Kim, I swear you're one of those people who can pull off such a vast range of shades. The dark colors in this collection look so glam and dramatic. I have sworn by Chanel's cake eyeliner for a number of years and I also like their nail lacquers and lipsticks.

So gorgeous Kim! And no, I never think of Chanel when it comes to makeup, so I'm really happy you sent me the palette last time. I love it especially the blush!

I love the lipstick and nail polish the most. They are so pigmented and look beautiful on any skin tone. I love deep plum shades. I have never used a Chanel product. It's definitely on my wish list.
