Positive Changes to Make Before 2020

We’re all so obsessed with making changes at the start of each new year that we can give ourselves a bit of a rubbish mindset. If things don’t go the way we hoped, the last few months can feel like a bit of a write off as we convince ourselves we’ll do better next year. Don’t keep wasting time, there’s no better time than the present to make changes and reach your goals. Here are some things you can realistically do by the time 2020 rolls around.

Start your own business
Thanks to the internet, it’s perfectly possible to run your own little business from home. You could turn a hobby into a way to earn money, or come up with an idea that allows you to earn cash in a flexible way. You don’t even need to have the money or know-how to set up your own website, simply sell using an online marketplace. Sites like Amazon make it easy for sellers to set up their own little shop, just do a bit of research about the basics. For example you could learn more about Amazon's brand registry and the fees involved in selling, although you’ll pick up most of it as you go along.

Replenish your body
Despite living in a part of the world that is abundant and most of us are lucky that we get enough to eat, it’s possible to still be malnourished. Even if you’re overweight or obese you can be suffering with a lack of vitamins and minerals, and that’s because many of us don’t eat enough of the right things. Dedicate the next few months to eating really well, aim to get in five to ten portions of fruits and vegetables. Make healthy swaps like white pasta/ bread/ rice for wholemeal. Add nutrient dense extras to your meals- such as seeds to your salad, cocao nibs to your porridge or flaxseed to your smoothies for an extra boost of minerals. Don’t focus so much on what you’re cutting out, as if you increase the good stuff in your diet you’ll find you’ll naturally eat less rubbish.

Spruce up your home
Home is the most important place in the world, and so surroundings that feel comfortable and cosy can be a major factor to your mental health and well-being. Give the walls a lick of paint, try a new feature wallpaper and add some colour with some new cushion covers.

Travel
Travel doesn't need to mean hopping on a plane and lying in the Bahamas for two weeks. As nice as that would be, its not something most of us can realistically afford on a whim! Travel can be getting on a coach to a different city or town in the country you live in. It can be hopping in the car and going on a road trip with friends, or going camping somewhere scenic. It can be cheap, cheerful and allow you to make memories as the year starts to come to a close.
