L'Oreal IT Cosmetics Happy Hour Event at The Saint Hotel Burgundy Bar in New Orleans

Sponsored/Disclosure: I was invited by L'Oreal It Cosmetics (L'Oreal recently purchased IT Cosmetics) to attend a happy hour beauty event at The Saint Hotel (Burgundy Room) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Attendees were treated to appetizers and given free IT Cosmetics products. We were not paid, nor obligated to talk about our experiences/products. So all opinions in this post are 100% my own.

The Saint Hotel New Orleans: Autograph Collection

Saints and Sinners. I think we're all a little of both ;) When I found out the event was going to be at The Saint Hotel, I said to myself 'that place sounds really familiar'. Well you guys, it's right next door to The Ritz Carlton Hotel - New Orleans (remember my stay-cation there last year...here and here). Well, The Saint Hotel is a "boutique" hotel. As you walk in, it gives you a "heavenly" feeling. You walk through airy, fluid and flowing white panels. All around are angels and angel wings. But as you progress deeper, things begin to turn "darker"! You start to see smoky blues & reds and eclectic chairs. It's a gorgeous hotel! They even have an Archangel Michael and Archangel Lucifer Suite! Their restaurant is called Tempt >.< of course for their tempting menu and cuisine ;) I will have to stay.

The Burgundy Bar in The Saint Hotel

Upon walking through these red velvet curtains, you enter the dark side! But wait... can I just discuss this chair for a second. It is huge! Upon sitting in it, you literally feel like Alice in Wonderland. It's so much bigger than you! The It Cosmetics happy hour beauty event was held in The Burgundy Bar. It's red. It's sexy. It's hot. It's haute. At 6pm you have travelers dipping in & out, but as the night progresses it gets sexier (burlesque dancing) There are a number of chandeliers in The Burgundy Bar and all are so different and beautiful. There's a massive one above the entertainment area, there was a gorgeous burgundy chandelier in the area where we were sitting and several were featured above the bar area. Beautiful chairs & sofas. Dimly lit candles. Large bottles of spirits. Fabulous pictures. I love the ambiance of The Burgundy Bar. I researched the place before attending, so I wore black (top/skirt anthropologie) and my makeup is Chanel Noir Rouge (2015 Christmas Collection). It's vampy makeup that looks great in "dark' places. I'm just realizing I never reviewed that collection on the blog! LOL I'll show it to you the end of this week ;) With dark red places, you don't want to wear red makeup. Chanel's Rouge Noir has a purple, brown and red mix. I think it befit the mood of the place.

It Cosmetics

This was my FIRST beauty event guys! I'm always watching influencers from California and New York on Snapchat go to events, trying out products and getting goodie bags. It felt so good, when I saw an email from L'Oreal It Cosmetics inviting me to this one in New Orleans. I hope more makeup brands come to New Orleans! I met with Alexia, Andi & Erica and they were the absolute SWEETEST! They explained every product there. They showcased IT Cosmetics Top 5 Bestsellers: CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream, Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer, Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara, Brow Power, and Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder. They showed me some makeup brush sets that will be coming out for the holidays at ULTA beauty. They also showed me some new makeup brushes that IT Cosmetics came out with recently. There's nothing like sipping white wine, eating crab cakes & steak and talking makeup. I thought I was in heaven, sitting in "hell" ;) Aren't those white roses gorgeous? I was given a goodie TOTE filled with IT Cosmetics! So look for a giveaway tomorrow! See, I don't change! I always think of you guys! I will always give back to my readers. I included a video below that shows the hotel and IT Cosmetic products. Also, look for a detailed review on each IT Cosmetic product below. THANK YOU IT Cosmetics! I had a wonderful time!

  1. I have never been to a Beauty Event either, but I bet they are a ton of fun. At least yours was. IT Cosmetics is not a brand I ever tried, so I will look out for your thoughts.

  2. Oh I love your makeup Kim, you're right it's so perfect for the venue. I've never really worn makeup like that, to match where I'm going, but it is like an extra accessory and such a good idea.

Thanks for the video too! I do have snapchat but I use it to talk with my sister and send funny pics of the boys, I haven't figured out how to do much else with it, haha!

So glad you got to attend a fun beauty event and not just watch others attending! :)

  6. I'm so happy you got to go to this event! Congrats! I wish events were in smaller cities more. There's barley any beauty events in Boston. That hotel/restaurant is REALLY cool! You looked beautiful.
