J-Lo and A-Rod: America’s Power Couple

It seems like just yesterday that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez graced us with their unmatched beauty at the 2017 Met Ball -- dressed to the nines and, quite literally, getting jaw-dropping reactions. It’s hard to believe that their relationship since then has flourished so much in the past two years and the couple is now engaged to be married. But how exactly did this duo get together and what happens when a triple threat (singer, dancer, actress) combines forces with one of the most famous baseball players of our time?

How It All Began
It all started with a simple tap on the shoulder. When out having lunch in LA, Jennifer recognized Alex and after finishing her meal, went up to say hi. After he revealed that he had moved out to LA, they both agreed they should hang out. She received a text not long after (that same night to be exact) asking her to dinner.

However, it wasn’t quite clear to the couple if their first date was actually a date. That is until Alex sent Jen a text from the bathroom telling her how hot she looked. Then it became a bit more clear.

We almost wish there was more to say, but from that point on, they’ve been inseparable. Combining their families, working out together, and gracing the cover of Vanity Fair.

The Engagement
Fast forward to March 9th of this year when Alex decided to pop the big question on a beach in the Bahamas.

“I planned it for about 6 months,” Alex told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “I rehearsed three days in a row, because I wanted the sunset to be perfect.”

Can you say swoon?! And let’s just talk about the rock for a minute.

It’s estimated that the ring is anywhere from 10-20 carats and ranging from $1-5 million dollars. J-Lo showed off the gorgeous moment on her instagram, while A-Rod gave us a closeup of the ring.

But the glitz and glam didn’t stop at just the stunning engagement ring. This past week, J-Lo hit a milestone birthday, and celebrated her big 5-0 with a giant party that truly brought out the Jenny from the block inside her.

But the party didn’t stop there. Just four days after he blowout party, Alex surprised Jennifer with her true birthday gift...a little red Porsche.

Her reaction: “What the hell?!”

The customized sports car retails for just over $140,000 and is the first car Jennifer has driven in 25 years.

“What do you get someone who already has everything?” Rodriguez asked. “You have to be creative.”

But Jennifer wasn’t the only one with a birthday last week. In fact, Jen and Alex have birthdays just three days apart. And, in true celeb fashion, they each had epit parties to celebrate.
