Talk About Who Is Involved
Your business plan should have a summary of the current management team and and where they have brought your company so far. You want to be able to tell people who are involved and what they do and you should describe the current management team and their skillset in detail. Your investors and shareholders (well, future ones) will want to know with whom they are dealing.

Time To Talk Product/Service
You should move into a paragraph about the product or service that you are planning to offer. You should talk about the benefits of your product and how it solves a problem for your customers who are looking for it. It should read as if you’re talking to someone very simply: they do not know what your product is, and so you need to be very basic in your language and talk through it thoroughly. The audience shouldn't be left wondering what it’s all about!

Write About Your Customer
With this business plan, you need to know and understand your market. You need to know everything there is to know about your customer base, and you should show this in your planning! This shows that you have a firm grasp of the segment of people in your target market.

Touch On The Competition
You must be able to detail what you know about your competition in your business plan. You have to show that you compare to them and can compete with them in the market in which you hope to be involved. If you can show that you compare favourably, then you’re going to be able to show that you can offer something to a similar market. This is where you can establish your USP!


Set Your Goals
You want to be realistic here, but you need to set your goals to show that you have a vision in where you want your business to go. You should show that you can set targets and hit milestones with your effective planning. Make sure your goals are both long and short term, and you will be able to prove that you have a clue about where your business is headed.

Know Your Risks - And List Them
Every business - whether you are experienced or not in your industry - is going to have risks. You just have to know what those are, know how to prepare for them and mention them in your business plan.
