Google Nest Hub Review

Not Sponsored: Hey Guys! A couple of months ago, I purchased a Google Home Nest Hub (Bloomingdales, Kohls, Macys, Target) for my makeup room. I want to share my honest thoughts with you about this device. Black Friday is coming up. There will be lots of sales. So if you're considering purchasing this device, this review should help you in your decision-making. I love the aesthetics of the device. It's really sleek (doesn't take up much space). It's like a mini-television. The picture and audio quality are awesome. It has a 7" TOUCHSCREEN display! It also has 2 microphones on the front and a light sensor. The speaker is located at the bottom and sides. The reach of the sound is so powerful, I mainly keep it on the first dot. HaHaHa YOU CAN CONTROL THE VOLUME WITH YOUR VOICE OR USE THE +- BUTTON ON THE BACK. YOU DO NEED WI-FI FOR THIS DEVICE TO WORK! Set-up was easy! It asks you a series of questions and you simply answer them. It only installs what you want. THERE IS NO CAMERA ON THE GOOGLE NEST HUB! Google just came out with the Google Nest Hub Max - Target - THAT DOES HAVE A CAMERA AND BIGGER SCREEN (10" screen - and built in Nest Cam so you can check on things in that room while you're not home). The MAX version also lets you do video calls and messages. I didn't want all of that in my makeup room, so I chose the regular Google Nest Hub. So what does it do? It shows YouTube videos. It plays YouTube music. It gives you the time. It gives you the temperature. It will showcase your Google photos. It will keep track of your Google calendar. It connects with Google maps. It connects with Spotify. It can connect with your Nest devices. Those are the main areas. You can teach it to recognize your voice. For everything you want it to do, you must start by saying HEY GOOGLE! and then what you want it to do. I didn't get it to recognize my mom's voice and she said HEY GOOGLE! and it did what she wanted. Soooo. LOL I love this little device. This device has ambient lighting, so it DIMS automatically either when you turn off the lights or it's nightime. The only thing I'm disappointed in, is that it doesn't surf the internet fully. I wanted it to connect with my Pinterest page, so I could pull up the different lipsticks etc I have, but it doesn't do that. Maybe in the future? But it entertains me in my makeup room while I'm applying makeup, tidying up etc.

Let me show you below, some ways I use it.

"HEY GOOGLE! YOU TUBE A VERY SWEET BLOG 2019 HALLOWEEN DECOR"
"HEY GOOGLE! YOU TUBE PLAY MICHAEL JACKSON'S THRILLER"
What's great is that I can look at videos on my own YouTube Channel and others I subscribe to. Unless you're specific, it will show the most current video on the person's YouTube Channel. By touching the screen, it will also show you other videos that are available to watch. So if you're a YouTube fan, you will love this. For Halloween, I used it to play Halloween music, The Nightmare Before Christmas. While doing my mom's hair, I had it to play Christmas music which was really relaxing. You can get it to show you baking & cooking videos. As you know YouTube is endless. As mentioned above, you can control the volume with your voice, "HEY GOOGLE, RAISE/LOWER THE VOLUME"

"HEY GOOGLE! WHAT IS THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE?"
This device always displays the time and temperature. You can get the specific (current) temperature for your city or another city. It will also give you and hour-by-hour temperature outlook or daily outlook if you ask.

"HEY GOOGLE! TELL ME ABOUT JACQUELINE KENNEDY ONASSIS!"
"HEY GOOGLE! YOUTUBE ... PEOPLE TV ... MEGHAN MARKLE"
This device is very limited when it comes to surfing the web. But it provides in-depth information if you ask it about a specific person (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis etc). It's like a mini Wikipedia. If you know the YouTube Channels you subscribe to, you can ask it to go to that channel. I subscribe to People TV. They usually keep up with Meghan Markle. So If you tell it to go to that channel and specifically ask for Meghan Markle. It will pull up their most recent video about her.

"HEY GOOGLE! TELL ME ABOUT THE ADDAMS FAMILY MOVIE 2019"
OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO ON YOUR GOOGLE NEST HUB
Do you need movie times or info about a movie? This is a great device for telling you about a movie, where its playing, and the times it's playing at the movies. IF YOU TAP THE SCREEN, IT GIVES YOU A LIST OF TOP STORIES THAT ARE HAPPENING. Other things that you can do is manage your personal info, use it as a calculator, translate, get nutrition facts, play music, find beauty services, get trivia, play fun sounds, manage reminders, get info about geography and places, get info about animals and plants, convert units, set alarm, check dictionary, set timers for cooking, check traffic, find nightlife, make phone calls, play audiobook, check news, find calm, find food and drink, check stock prices, . If you subscribe to YouTube TV, you can watch everything that is on there. I just need it to connect to Netflix and Pinterest and I'm good. HaHaHa So I hope they work on that.
