Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Cleanser Review

Not Sponsored: Over the years, I've tried many Murad cleansers. I LOVE their Renewing Cleansing Cream and AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. I LIKE their Soothing Gel Cleanser and Refreshing Cleanser. I just finished trying their Essential C Cleanser (ULTA, Nordstrom, Murad, Strawberrynet, Dermstore, QVC, Sephora, Macys, Selfridges). It's formulated with Vitamins A, C and E. Its a cleansing gel that helps remove pollution and impurities. Its also suppose to not over-dry the skin. This cleanser is part of their Environmental Shield collection of skincare. I've tried some of their other Environmental Shield products such as their Intensive C Radiance Peel, Essential C Night Moisture and Rapid Age Spot & Pigment Lightening Serum. All of which are VERY GOOD. This cleanser smells like oranges. It smells citrus-y. It's a clear gel with small light orange particles in it. You can see them, but you don't feel them. Low lather. This cleanser does an excellent job in cleansing the skin. My skin felt CLEAN! Was it moisturizing? NO. But it never stripped my skin. My skin never felt overly dry while using this cleanser. It never flaked etc and I have dry skin. I did feel that I needed a moisturizer afterwards and for night use that is where the Essential C Night Moisture moisturizer would come into play. In my opinion, this works more like an end-of-the-day makeup remover .... where you want to remove your makeup and get all the dust & grime off your face from the day. Then you would go in with your other cleanser and skincare products. Also, I think this would work better for normal, combination and oily skin types than dry skin types. Its a pretty serious cleanser and over time (over & over) it might be too much for dry skin. That's my opinion. Its marketed as a cleanser, but to use this constantly would be too much for my dry skin. As a makeup remover, I feel it would be too much for my skin type. For other skin types that produce more oil and have more normality, I feel it would work great! Murad also mentions that this cleanser ENERGIZES your skin. I didn't detect any bells or whistles while using it. I just knew I had a really CLEAN face. That was about it.
